After a few initial metal covers to get them together, the four musicians soon discovered the potential to play their own songs. 

Noble alloys, forged from various elements of heavy metal, turn Inner Enemy songs into powerful, neck-tugging hymns. Catchy rhythms and concise choruses usually remain a prominent compositional feature. The mostly English lyrics are mixed with a few German parts for certain messages, which gives Inner Enemy songs even more recognition value. Deeper themes, such as injustice towards the weaker, thoughts about the future of our planet, the decadence of mankind but also gratitude for life in our western world, play a major role.

Southern California's metal band CONTORTION is finally releasing their highly anticipated second album "The Common Thread" on February 16, 2024. The pandemic gave the band extra time to work on the album, and they called in some of the biggest names in metal as guest performers. Belisario Dimuzio from Cattle Decapitation , Heidi Shepherd from Butcher Babies , Henry Sanchez from Brujeria , Brian Sheerin from Mower , Christian Machado from Ill Nino , Dan Palmer from Death By Stereo , Travis Neal from Divine Heresy , Marcelo Barbosa from Angra , Matt Wannamaker from Mower , Riley McShane from Allegaeon , and Dallas Coyle from God Forbid all lent their talents to the album. The result is a diverse, melodic, and intense album that aims to carve out a new path for metal as a genre. BELTFED WEAPON Thrash/Speed/Death Metal Supergroup Premieres New Track "Tortured Within" on Metal Injection!

Seattle-based thrash/speed/death metal supergroup Beltfed Weapon is back with their highly anticipated new single, "Tortured Within," premiering on Metal Injection on September 10, 2024. Following the success of their 2023 EP Darkened Demise, Beltfed Weapon founder and guitarist Frank Hetzel returns with a powerhouse lineup of special guest collaborators, including:

Stu Block (vocals, ex-Iced Earth, Into Eternity)

Mike Lepond (bass, Symphony X)

Kragen Lum (lead guitar, Heathen, Exodus)

Bryan Newbury (drums, Into Eternity)

Mixed and mastered by Juan Urtega, "Tortured Within" delivers a relentless blend of thrash, speed, and death metal, with an all-star cast of metal veterans contributing to its fierce energy. The cover art was crafted by Sidjimbe Art, adding a visual punch to the track’s intense theme.

Frank Hetzel explains the inspiration behind the song:

"'Tortured Within' is about a person battling a war within themselves, like addiction, and struggling to break free and find a positive direction. Working with Stu and Mike was an awesome experience. Both are consummate professionals, and as always, Kragen and Bryan delivered on every level. I couldn’t be happier with how this song turned out."

Mike Lepond added, "Frank has some seriously vicious riffs with an almost machine-like precision. His music is very different from Symphony X, and it was a challenge at first. But the more I practiced, the more I appreciated his metal artistry."

Stu Block commented, "It was fun working with Frank on this tune. He's a very talented musician and an awesome guy!"

Founded in 1999 by guitarist/songwriter Frank Hetzel, Beltfed Weapon has been a force in the Seattle metal scene for over 20 years. Hetzel, who initially gained recognition as a booking agent for national and international touring bands, established Beltfed Weapon as a project heavily influenced by speed, thrash, and death metal.

Over the years, Beltfed Weapon has released a demo and three critically acclaimed EPs, playing shows with metal icons such as Testament, Overkill, Death Angel, Nile, and Agnostic Front.
