KING ZOG RELEASE "SECOND DAWN"

King Zog’s 2017 debut album inducted a new titan into the underworld of doom – earning unilateral fandom and critical praise for its devotional offering to the gods of metal. DARKNESS RELEASE "BLOOD ON CANVAS"

The thrash metal commando DARKNESS comes from Essen - Altenessen, next to the Bay Area the most creative nucleus of the thrash wave in the 1980s.

Founded in 1984, the band made a name for themselves with the demos “Evil Curse”, “Titanic War” and “Spawn of the Dark One”.

DARKNESS released three albums between 1987 and 1989.

The first album “Death Squad” is considered a thrash classic and established the cult status of DARKNESS, which still exists today and influences thrash musicians all over the world.

In 1991 things became quieter for the band, and in 1998 singer Olli tragically died.

Lacky and Arnd, two early members, revived Thrash Guerrilla in 2004.

In 2005 the three albums “Death Squad”, “Defenders of Justice” and “Conclusion & Revival” were released again. In addition, “Bocholt Live Squad”, an official concert recording from May 14, 1987, is coming onto the market in CD format.

The long-out-of-print triple vinyl box “The Demos” from 2008 contains a live recording from the “Keep it True” Festival 2006, all demo recordings and extensive bonus material.

At the end of 2010, the musicians, who were otherwise under the banner “Eure Erben”, released an album under the name DARKNESS for the first time.

Since demand continues, the albums “Death Squad” and “Defenders of Justice” will be released on vinyl again to mark their 25th anniversary.

As with many veterans of metal, DARKNESS also has a line-up merry-go-round. Lacky and Arnd, the band's constants, are looking for a stable line-up for a comeback. The guitarist Meik started his job for Darkness in 2013. Lee was given the microphone by Arnd at the end of 2014, who from then on concentrated exclusively on the guitar and backgrounds.

In 2015, Dirk took over the bass role from Christian “Spessy” Gießler, who no longer has time to be involved in DARKNESS due to his main job at Kreator.

After “Keep it True” Festival, but especially since 2014, DARKNESS have played at well-known festivals such as the “Turock Open Air”, “Obscene Extreme”, Headbangers Open Air” and the “Ruhrpott Metal Meeting”.

The old school club is also being wielded at numerous club shows around the world and proven what the band stands for: old school thrash - brutal, fast, uncompromising and mean.

With the album “The Gasoline Solution”, a real, much-praised successor to the two classics “Death Squad” and “Defenders of Justice” was released in October 2016.

Exactly 2 years after the comeback album, Darkness presented the The album “First Class Violence” makes it impressively clear that even more than 30 years later, angry thrash still comes from Altenessen.

At the beginning of 2019, Ben took over the bass from Dirk. The EP “Over and Out” follows in 2020.

In 2024, Dominik took over the guitar from Maik and with the highly acclaimed release of the album “Blood on Canvas” in 2024, Darkness manifested its status as a German thrash institution.

SPECTRE RELEASE "ARMAGEDDON"

Spectre is heavy metal band based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba.  They played their first show in the spring of 2023 and have since been playing extensively around western Canada.  

The band consists of seasoned musicians: Adam (vocals), Jason (guitar), Doug (guitar), Jay (Bass) and Phill (drums).  They combine a wide range of influences from classic hard rock and heavy metal to punk rock to bring their audience a catchy and energetic music experience.  

Members of Spectre have been honoured to share the stage with many talented bands including: Striker, Drowning Pool, Anvil, Steel Panther, Three Inches of Blood, Trivium, and Diamond Head.  

Spectre have recently finished recording their first EP entitled ‘Armageddon’ which can be found on all major streaming sites, as well as in a form of a CD.

SOULRIDE RELEASE "MURDER ACT"

UK-based heavy/thrashers SOULRIDE release a video for the title track of their upcoming full-length “Murder Act” (feat. Kristian Havard of Xentrix)

The band Soulride was founded in November 2008 in Coventry (UK) by three Poles who,  after a few years of living overseas, decided to return to making music. The beginnings of the band  were definitely rock.

Soulride quickly recorded the first EP "LOST" and began touring around  Coventry. After recording the second EP "PARALYZED" the band performed at concerts all over  the UK, playing in London, Birmingham and Manchester. On "PARALYZED" the band moved towards heavy metal, the numbers were stronger but still melodic. After playing several dozen  concerts, personal problems began, which caused the suspension of activities.

After a few years, the  band was resuscitated, between 2014-2018 Soulride played only a few concerts, but from 2022 in a  new line-up and with new energy the band started rehearsing and creating new material. In February 2023 Soulride recorded 2 demo songs which were immediately loved by local promoters. This  resulted in even more concerts. 

In Autumn 2023, the band returned to the studio to record  material for the first album, which will be promoted at concerts in 2024. The songs are firmly  embedded in classic heavy metal. There will be two guest appearances on the album: a fierce solo by Stan Havard (Xentrix) and outstanding vocals by Tim Ripper Owens (KK’s Priest, ex-Judas Priest, ex- Iced Earth and many more). The record will be released on 23/09/2024 via Szataniec.

Soulride played dozens of concerts both in the UK and in Poland, supporting several well known Polish bands such as Quo Vadis, Grzegorz Kupczyk and Ceti, Pandemonium.

ETERNAL CRYPT RELEASE "STAGES OF GRIEF"

Drawing from many oversea influences, Eternal Crypt brings their brand of melodic extreme metal from their hometown of Rochester New York. Seattle-based thrash/speed/death metal supergroup Beltfed Weapon is back with their highly anticipated new single, "Tortured Within," premiering on Metal Injection on September 10, 2024. Following the success of their 2023 EP Darkened Demise, Beltfed Weapon founder and guitarist Frank Hetzel returns with a powerhouse lineup of special guest collaborators, including:

Frank Hetzel explains the inspiration behind the song:

"'Tortured Within' is about a person battling a war within themselves, like addiction, and struggling to break free and find a positive direction. Working with Stu and Mike was an awesome experience. Both are consummate professionals, and as always, Kragen and Bryan delivered on every level. I couldn’t be happier with how this song turned out."

Mike Lepond added, "Frank has some seriously vicious riffs with an almost machine-like precision. His music is very different from Symphony X, and it was a challenge at first. But the more I practiced, the more I appreciated his metal artistry."
