“Tribal” is TETRACTYS' first full-length album, which was released on December 13 2019 via Sleaszy Rider Records. Recorded and Mixed at Dope Of Sound Studio by Kostas Savvidis. Mastered by Mike Meleteas at Bombtrack Studio.
The album's purpose is to remind us of the existence of our “animal” side, in order to awaken our instincts and give us strength to overcome any obstacle. A journey to primitive soundscapes, with grooves and breakdowns coming one after the other, heavy rhythm parts and melodies which excite imagination, and heavy brutal vocals with social and experiential lyrical concepts. All these make “Tribal” an album - “survival guide”, an esoteric research on our subconscious which often hold us prisoners of our own thoughts. An album with mood swings, like life itself, inspired by everyday struggles.

INFERNA PROFUNDUS RECORDS is proud to present the highly anticipated third album of the UK's ABDUCTION, All Pain as Penance, on CD and vinyl LP formats.
The sole province of tireless mainman A|V, ABDUCTION officially began foul life with the release of a debut demo in October 2016. An auspicious if not all-too-brief start, that demo was soon followed by the band's debut album, To Further Dreams of Failure, released by INFERNA PROFUNDUS in April 2017. Here unfurled the fullness of ABDUCTION's foulness, a rank 'n' cantankerous full-length introduction to A|V's aesthetic. Grim and spectral yet emitting an elusive air of bestiality, To Further Dreams of Failure truly put the name of ABDUCTION UK on the international map.
Later in 2017, an extremely limited tape-only EP tellingly titled Respiratory Prison continued ABDUCTION's onward-and-abyssward advance, to be followed by the band's second album, A Crown of Curses, in August 2018. Consolidating the strengths of its long-form predecessor whilst opening previously-unexplored tombs, A Crown of Curses was a rawer and yet more magisterial version of ABDUCTION's black metal vision. Simultaneously, this second album drank from the well of black metal's second-wave classicism and spit back wholly modern fire, tearing asunder the ragged cloth of nostalgia. But alas, the best was still to come...
At last, it arrives with ABDUCTION's highly anticipated third album, All Pain as Penance. Ever aptly titled, All Pain as Penance is a soul-flaying plunge into the psyche's craggiest, most malodorous depths. One could say that album #3 is the best of both full-length worlds - the gnawing violence of the debut, the desolate atmospheres of the second - but that only tells half the story here. Recorded by Ian Boult of Stuck on a Name Studios, with EG on session drums and A|V handling all else, All Pain as Penance immediately conveys an ABDUCTION at its most robust and punishingly physical. Unlike so much "one-man black metal," this record truly sounds like a whole BAND - which isn't entirely surprising, given that A|V has made ABDUCTION an increasingly prolific force on the live front. From there, this firm foundation allows him to explore coruscating gnarliness and beyond-the-shade dread alike, coalescing into an astute balance between form and function, spirituality and physicality. Above all, All Pain as Penance proves that black metal need not sacrifice muscle nor ambience to convey its darkest secrets: both worlds can be destroyed equally, only to rebuilt in gleamingly obsidian austerity.
UK black metal is continually being renewed, continually cycling through new generations of devotees - and pretenders. ABDUCTION cares not for contemporaries, neither domestically nor abroad; only the experience of black metal's most sacred sensations matter. “When the band first started, and names were being considered, I felt that Oath of Cruelty had the right "texture" and connotations you know? Sadism, medieval violence, torture... It just fits.” Dave Callier just hit the nail on the head. Frantic, barbaric, yet sharp as a knife… Those are just some of the words most associated Houston’s Oath of Cruelty.
The band was initially formed in 2010 by Matt ‘Mayhem’ Heffner on drums, Dave Callier on guitar and Kyle Laven (R.I.P.) on lead guitar, and their first demo Altar of Impalement was recorded in 2012 with Robert Mena from local 80s thrash moguls Dark Reign on vocals.
After few line-up changes (incl. the arrival of Imprecation’s Danny Hiller on guitar, and of Tony Rich from Houston'ss Necrotic Void, who had a 2-year stint in the band) plus a second demo and a two track EP, the core trio of Callier, Mayhem and Hiller have finally recorded their first proper full-length and sealed a pact (in blood) with Dark Descent Records to release it.
Dave describes Summary Execution at Dawn as a “culmination of spastic, frenetic riffs and urgent blasting energy, punctuated by sadistic, harsh lyrics delivered via barbarous, grating vocals.” Their songs are about sadism, medieval scenes of violence and carnage, the senseless nature of war, the Black Plague, idiot religions, and the industrialization of war and weaponry. No wonder then that they’ve covered Merciless classic from their The Awakening album ‘Denied Birth’ and that most of their influences seem to come not only from the 80’s but from the then bleak industrial-like German birth place of Sodom and Kreator. “With the exception of Slayer, I always felt like 80’s German thrash metal was much more deathly and abrasive, which speaks more to us. Pleasure to Kill, Riders of Doom – there aren't many US bands that have records worth comparing to these! I have to confess though that it's important not to understate the effect Repulsion has always had on me... Most of their really classic songs are just thrash metal riffs played at 45 RPM. Total death!”
All three musicians - Spencer from Blaspherian joined them on bass after the recording - may have roots in grindcore (PLF), war metal (Morbosidad) and evil death metal (Blaspherian) yet Summary Execution at Dawn lives in its own time frame. With some songs harking back as far as 2010 and a recording slowly chipped away at since 2015, the result is 34 minutes of death/thrash executed at rabid speed, set in medieval times when “life was cheap” and tyrants and cruel wizards ruled the earth. In the sign of evil indeed!
