Death metal is not dead yet and it’s gruesome, yet fascinating future is here in the form of Consumption!

Consumption is a relatively new Swedish duo producing crushing Carcass-like Grind/Death. This project is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Håkan Stuvemark, famous for his works with a huge bunch of Extreme Metal bands (and the most notable from that list is Wombbath). And he invited the experienced drummer Jon Skäre to complete his band to a new level. The grinding death metal with eerie melodies sound like Carcass in their 90’s prime yet they also have a distinct own touch. The overall sound of the album is raw and unpolished just like it should be. Best of all is that this does not sound like they wanted to artificially give it this touch. It has an all natural feel to it which makes it even more intense and interesting. The array of vocal techniques and the way passages differ in speed and intensity give “ Recursive Definitions of Suppuration” just that little bit extra.

Cemetery Echo was invoked through the festering remains of metal bands passed, stuffed to the fangs with 80’s goth attitude, ceremoniously stitched together with silken strands of spookhouse spiderwebs, and summoned back to life through mysterious funerary incantations from ancient tomes of the undead. Re-animated in 2019, the Buffalo, NY act crept to life and formulated their debut EP “Come Share My Shroud”, which was unearthed the following year. With a hunger that is never satisfied, these ghoulish specters are currently residing in their crypts, unrestfully conjuring more tales of horrifying dread to unleash upon the earth... Petrichor embraced this semi-undead entity and decided it was destined to infect the world with these songs of despair, sorrow and untimely demise. May these haunted melodies forever caress your soul!

Helsinki-based crossover thrash band My Funeral have just released their new single "Flamethrower".

"Flamethrower" represents the group's efforts at a darker, grittier return. When the world and the mind are on fire, does anything go back to the way it used to be?

The song is about how life just burns out. A song about depression, anxiety and addiction. How can the mind survive the relentless onslaught of inner demons, when the walls are closing in and you're at war with yourself? When all the pain is gone, life can finally begin - even when all is given and the mind is on fire.

My Funeral is busy working on their new full-length album. They will start to record in August. The new album will be released in 2022 and it will be deeply involved in the fight against themselves.

If there was any chance for a NWOBHM-inspired band to come into life in the heart of Polish Silesia, then it happened in 2014 in Rybnik. Three friends, one goal: heavy metal. Zbigniew, Adam and Krzysztof took the prosperous guitarist, Michał, under their wings and formed IRONBOUND. After recruiting Bartosz to take over vocal duties they record their first EP – „She Devil”. They started to follow this direction, even though Bartosz decided to exit the speedy train not long after releasing the EP. However, on their adventure course the band members were quickly approached by Łukasz and the and became stronger than ever with the new lead singer. „The Witch Hunt / Lifesblood” single from 2018 was a harbinger of what a band was going to deliver – their first full album „The Lightbringer” will have its premiere on April 30th 2021 and it’s sure to assuage the hunger of every metal maniac craving for some good, oldschool NWOBHM vibes.

NIDEN DIV. 187 RE-RELEASE "IMPERGIUM / TOWARDS JUDGEMENT" AS 2 LP BOX SET

Cult Swedish black metal act NIDEN DIV. 187, featuring current and former members of DAWN, VANHELGD, A CANOROUS QUINTET, RETALIATION, KING OF ASGARD and THY PRIMORDIAL, conspires with Dawnbreed Records and De:Nihil Records to release the highly anticipated vinyl boxset edition of “Impergium / Towards Judgement” on May 21st 2021.

The Black Metal cauldron of the mid 1990s ultimately spawned a myriad of hordes all over the globe conveying the gospel of Darkness and Evil from and to the utmost subterranean spheres. Like in every scenery, a plethora of emulators saturate the Underground. Although a trained eye, ear and spirit eventually knows how to separate the virtuous from the disposable, treasures eventually end up being obfuscated.

A proper representative of such notion is Swedish entity NIDEN DIV. 187. A side-project of members from such distinctive names such as DAWN, A CANOROUS QUINTET and THY PRIMORDIAL, the group hatched two releases through Necropolis Records in the gleam of 90s before vanishing completely.

Right from the very first moments of 1996's "Towards Judgment", one gets dragged into a landscape of dangerous and unapologetically virulent Black Metal. A grim sharp sound conceals fast belligerent riffs, slashes of six-string mania carved as rusty but merciless daggers. An incisive slaughtering drum performance purveys the almost military pulse to these four tracks while pure hate is expelled on a nefarious inhuman vocal performance.

All such elements are exalted into an even greater level of hostility and command of both songwriting and atmosphere on the band's debut album and grand opus. Entitled "Impergium", NIDEN DIV. 187 blasts its way into total warfare yet spreading its disease with an assorted diversity, whether by slower more atmospheric moments or slightly melodic yet abyssal riffing. This full-length exposes the band on a darker and more sinister path than ever, supremely evoking a ghastly aura of dread and suffocating blackness via ominous instrumental pieces intervening within deranged blast-beating bashing, a hateful and menacing army of guitar riffs and a carnage of deathlike wails and screams. "Impergium" never loses its momentum, but furthers its apocalyptic omen into a fearful canvas where Death and Blood remain triumphant.

Proudly released by Dawnbreed Records and De:Nihil Records on a luxurious 2xLP box, behold an ode to and from the dark past, an essential and glorious proclamation of genuine Black Metal mastery!

Goat Sanctuary was born out of the dark winters of Seattle to explore the deepest sounds of Thrash Metal brought by a diverse array of influences each member has to offer.
