Greek Thrash/Death metal combo Deathcraeft have signed with Wormholedeath a deal for the release of their album "On Human Devolution", out on 16 07 2021 worldwide.

Band's comment:

"On Human Devolution" is Deathcraeft's debut concept album - self-released by the band almost a year ago. The story is set in the world of the Cthulhu Mythos, originally created by prolific writer H.P.Lovecraft, and the music is an amalgamation of various extreme styles of metal (thrash, death, black). It was produced at Infinite Loop music studio (Ioannina, Greece) and mastered by well-known mastering engineer Peter In de Betou.

After gathering many positive reviews on online media - but also through magazines, the band, in their effort to bring their music to wider audience, sought the help of WormWholeDeath Rec. Label who will be releasing the album on digital format starting from July, 16th, 2021. With the pandemic hopefully coming to an end, the band plans to return to gigging in order to support the album.

Biography

Deathcraeft is a thrash/death all- metal crossover band from Greece. It was formed in 2017 by guitarist kostas Kalampokas who, after attending Berklee College of music created a recording studio business in his hometown, Ioannina. After producing albums for various bands he created Deathcraeft and started working on the band's debut album titled "On Human Devolution".

It is a concept album based on H.P. Lovecraft's writings and the Cthulhu Mythos he created, but at its core it deals with socio-political issues.

DEFLESHED AND GUTTED RELEASE RE-RECORD CLASSIC TRACK

Texas Slamming Death Metal band Defleshed & Gutted recently signed to Australian extreme metal label Vicious Instinct Records. The band just unveiled not just a remixed, or remastered version, but a complete re-recording of their 2017 track ‘Baptized in Bile’ taken from their debut record ‘The Prophecy in the Entrails’.

This redux version is part of a 16 track, 4 band split titled ‘Excruciating Malformations of Abhorrent Descent’ which features bands such as Devour The Unborn, Slamentation, and Inhuman Atrocities. It will be released on August 26th, 2021.

Excruciating Malformations of Abhorrent Descent is a split release between 4 of the heaviest bands in existence! "Divine Archetype" is an album whose concept revolves around the idea of​​ God, creation, origin, and power. It is made up of 9 tracks, beginning with an instrumental song called "Eon" that goes back to the beginning of time, opens the door to the mystical sound of the album, the setting evokes an ancestral rite with a bit of darkness and glory. It is a song that translates very well the general sound concept of the album.

"My Faith", "Nation On Fire" and "Dead Tree" deal with the concept of the archetype of God, the mutations of the essence of him through the history of humanity and cultures, up to the present day. They talk a bit about the power that religion has over the world and dominion through fear. Musically, the choral and symphonic arrangements are decisive in these 3 songs.

Zenith and Vimana transport to the past, to another world where dimensionless beings created humanity and the stars of our system, inspired the idea of​​the creator God, concepts buried in time and that revive in these sound passages.

"Destiny" is a song that personifies the archetype of time, the possibility of traveling through alternate dimensions to the past like dreams. Its sound is typical of surrealism, it incorporates nuances of the East with emotional ceremonial songs.

At the end of the album, we have the songs “Exiled” and “The Hidden Key”. "Exile" is a song inspired by a "Levi Eliphas" fable called "The Nightingale's Exequias." Inspired in turn by that feeling of belonging to another world, of not being part of reality, that feeling that all human beings have ever experienced when looking at the stars. And finally, we have "The Hidden Key" song that opens the door to the archetype of darkness and the liberation of its demons, most likely the central theme of a future album for Psychomancy.

When seven friends from Munich (DE) — Stefanie (front vocals), Severin (e-guitar, acoustic guitar, flutes, backing vocals), Max Schmid (bass, backing vocals), Valentin Seipt (bagpipe), Marianne Lasota (violin), Michael Paintner (drums) und Christian Maier (e-guitar) — sat by the campfire at night on a medieval faire in 2014, forming a band was nothing but a spontaneous idea. As they didn’t lack creativity nor drive it turned into a lot more after a short period of time already and they made their own history: from medieval faires onto the great stage.

BRACHMOND combines medieval folk instrumentation and ancient german language lyrics with rock and metal elements creating an unforgettable, enthralling sound - a successful mix of Subway to Sally, Feuerschwanz and Eluveitie.

Their self-produced album „Ascheregen“ (2018) is now followed by the new single „Teufelstanz“ (release: 23rd July 2021) which was produced with Reinhard von Wegen (Vroudenspil, KAFFKIEZ, Koenix…). A song hiding a gloomy attraction, using various kinds of longings and fears to get us on its side. Knowing full well we approach darkness as some allurements can’t be defied.

Robert Graves comments: "With 'Lone Wolf', the band and I agreed right away that this was an opportunity to create a narrative driven video that would convey the song's lyrical themes, while also creating an engaging visual experience. And so, a noir-styled heist in the heart of LA just seemed to fit the song perfectly. We decided to keep the story simple and allow the tone of the video to help convey the song's significance. This gave us (the crew) the opportunity to create an aesthetic that intensified the song's mood, while also getting some incredible action scenes to tell the story. Needless to say, Armored Saint fans are in for a ride. I think they're gonna love it!"

Bassist Joey Vera adds: "Working again with director Robert Graves was incredible. Not only is this video great to watch, but underneath the storyline lies a layer of allegory, metaphor and symbolism. Kind of a first for us. John Bush's great lyrics twist and turn into meanings not visible at first sight. It's a view into a person's journey through life and how they maneuver through it all and what they gain from that experience in the end. The neo-noir look Robert created in both the story and the band performances make this a great addition to the Armored Saint video catalogue."

Vocalist John Bush adds: "Working with Robert is awesome. The guy is truly amazing. He's gonna be a star.

This time we pushed the dialogue. It was challenging for me, but I had fun with it. For motivation, I tried to channel some of the great actors who come into the casting studio that my wife and I run.

'Wolf' tackles the view of people who spend a lot of time on their own. Something I spent years doing. The solitary individuals that always keep us guessing. This video is dedicated to them."

Leaders and stalwarts of the American heavy metal scene since the early 80s, Armored Saint's latest release, Punching The Sky (2020), sees them returning hard. A diverse, attitude-drenched collection, it's everything the band's faithful have come to expect from them while pushing their signature sound forward. With Vera acting as producer, he recruited the same engineering team that worked on Win Hands Down (2015) with drums recorded by Josh Newell at El Dorado Studios in Burbank, CA, guitars tracked by Bill Metoyer at Skullseven studios in North Hollywood, CA, and vocals, bass and additional recordings by the bassist at his studio. Mixed by Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Amon Amarth, Stonesour), the record also features a few guest musicians further expanding its sonic palette, the whole thing kicking off with the sound of Uilleann Pipes, Vera finding player Patrick D'Arcy in LA and recruiting him to the cause. Guns 'N' Roses keyboardist Dizzy Reed also contributes, Vera giving both him and D'Arcy some general directions and letting them loose, both of them delivering strong performances. The band's own Gonzo Sandoval plays an American Indian flute on "Never You Fret" - a first for Armored Saint and their drummer. Also Jacob Ayala, the son of a childhood friend who is a drum major in high school, added some marching snare on one of the tracks, which really stands out.

More melodies and heavier at the same time? While it may seem contradictory at first, this is the best description for the stylistic evolution which KINGS WINTER has undergone in the two years since their debut EP "Forging The Cataclysm". While the foundation of Melodic Heavy Metal remains, the keyboards move significantly into the background on the new album and leave more space for powerful guitar riffs, which are repeatedly contrasted with catchy guitar leads, often reminiscent of Scandinavian Melodic Death Metal.

The debut album "Edge Of Existence" is completed by the multi-layered vocals of frontwoman Jule Dahs, who shows all facets of her voice ranging from classic clean vocals to a powerful rock voice, with occasional growls added to the mix.

"I read this quote by chance at the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and was shocked by its relevance to the current situation," Tobias comments on the creation of the album title. "A little more than a year ago, no one would have believed that we would experience such restrictions in private and public life. But that only shows how unstable this living system, that we are a part of, really is and how one event that might appear small at first glance, can have global consequences." As soon as playing concerts is possible again, fans of the band will also have the opportunity to experience KINGS WINTER live on stage for the first time. "Shortly after the EP was released, we got the first messages asking when and where we could be seen on stage. We had never really thought about it beforehand, but after all the positive feedback for "Forging The Cataclysm" and with this new set of songs in hand, we hope to put together a live band over the course of this year so that we can play our first gigs whenever things return to normality," says Jule about the plans for the future of the band.
