Oak, Ash & Thorn arose along the Colorado Rocky Mountain's Front Range out of a collective passion for heavy metal and a shared pagan worldview. Their debut full-length, May Every Altar Linger from 2018, was a patented blend of dual clean vocals/death growls, anthemic riffing, and athletic drumming, inspired by the likes of Týr, In Flames, and Immortal. On 2021 follow-up EP To Gaze on Stars of Frost, the band refined their sound further by enlisting Fabian Jiru of Trollfest (Napalm Records) for production duties. In 2023, the band would work with Jiru once more on the Eternal EP, issued by new label Lost Future Records directly before an extended east coast tour with Brooklyn melodeath up-and-comers Solemn Vision. Previously, Oak, Ash & Thorn had shared stages with the likes of Cradle of Filth, Borknagar, Rotting Christ, Týr, Arkona, Metsatöll, and Kalmah, amongst many others.

With “Le Cloître” (The Cloister), Givre continues their exploration of the atoning side of pain in Christian history. This time, the lyrics are taken from the hagiographies of six saint women and explores freely their relation to god through suffering, from the symbolic poetry of Hildegard Von Bingen (1098-1179) to the disturbing and factual depictions of Marthe Robin (1902-1981). Musically, this album explores a variety of extreme genres while maintaining a suffocating and tormented atmosphere.

LYRRE RELEASE VIDEO FOR "VALLEY OF TEARS"

 

PRESS RELEASE:

LYRRE, the band featuring former ELUVEITIE member Michelina Malisz has released a video for the track "Valley of Tears" from their "Not All Who Dream are Asleep" album released in March 2023. This is the sixth official video released by the band. Their music can be described as neo medieval folk metal and one of the main characteristics is the combination of hurdy gurdy melodies with heavy guitars and thundering rhythm section.

The music video for VALLEY OF TEARS was recorded in Klub Zaścianek, Kraków and was filmed and edited by Jan Gajewski.

The band will start a tour next February on the following dates:
