Woodbridge, VA — After more than two decades in hibernation, Virginia-based melodic death metal band AS THE SEA PARTS is set to unleash their long-awaited debut full-length album Psychosis on July 11th, 2025 . Originally formed in 1995 by multi-instrumentalist Paul Vanderslice , the band left a lasting impression in the underground with their Trilogy of Sorrow demo before entering a prolonged hiatus. Now, the storm resurfaces — heavier, darker, and more epic than ever.

For fans of early At The Gates , In Flames , and Death , Psychosis delivers a crushing blend of old-school melodic death metal infused with death/doom grandeur and streaks of blackened atmosphere. Reuniting original drummer Erik Sayenga ( Warthrone , ex- Dying Fetus ) and guitarist Scott Loose ( Brave , Stellar Death , While Heaven Wept ), Vanderslice reawakened the long-dormant beast in 2019 — with fire still in its veins.

Following the release of the digital singles Psychosis (2021) and Where Paradise Lies (2022), the upcoming album expands that sonic promise with ten meticulously crafted tracks that embrace the golden age of melodic death while forging a brooding, introspective identity all their own.

  “Psychosis isn’t just a return — it’s a continuation of what we started in the ‘90s,” says Vanderslice. “We took everything we loved from that era and pushed it even further — with deeper songwriting, bigger dynamics, and a relentless emotional core.”

Adding to the album’s legacy, the cover artwork was created by iconic metal illustrator Mark Riddick , whose darkly detailed style perfectly captures the album’s chaotic and tortured spirit.

DEPHOSPHORUS aims to expand listeners’ consciousness, fostering a vision of a sustainable future where humanity not only survives but thrives in harmony with its biosphere - and even with AI. Much like the anarchic utopia imagined by Iain M. Banks in The Culture books, this future is one where technology and humanity coexist symbiotically.

Their latest effort, “Planetoktonos”, is the band’s fifth full-length release, a ferocious collection of 9 cosmic, menacing tracks that pay tribute to the energy and dynamics of trailblazing acts such as Anodyne, Nasum, Playing Enemy, Breach, Knut, Leviathan and Bolt Thrower.

“Planetoktonos” - a Greek word coined by the band, roughly translating to “Planetkiller”- brings DEPHOSPHORUS closer than ever to their ideal sound. Mindfully forged in the positive atmosphere of Ignite Studio, a rising cornerstone of the local underground scene (home to acts like Antimob, Embrace Of Thorns and Chain Cult), the album was mastered by sonic guru James Plotkin (OLD, Khanate), ensuring every detail hits with impact.

Psychedelic layers are woven into the album’s fabric thanks to electronics mastermind Miltos Schimatariotis, a long- term collaborator and unofficial fifth member of the band. Schimatariotis, owner of Northside Studio, has been instrumental in shaping previous releases such as “Night Sky Transform”, “Ravenous Solemnit” and their collaboration LP with Haapoja.

As always, DEPHOSPHORUS explores science fiction and cosmology through an existential and political lens in both the lyrics and aesthetics of “Planetoktonos”. Several tracks, along with the album’s title and artwork - designed by Graphic No Jutsu (see Planet Of Zeus, Nightrage, etc.) - are inspired by The Expanse novel series by James S.A. Corey, a near-future universe where humanity has colonized the Solar System but faces the unknown consequences of encountering alien intelligence and technology. After years of grinding in the underground, Me And All My Demons represents the culmination of Jawfane’s intense DIY ethic, unfiltered storytelling, and genre-bending sound. Originally self-produced, the EP was re-recorded and finalized in partnership with Exitus Stratagem Records, bringing the band’s vision to life with new power and clarity.

“We are absolutely beyond words for how excited we are to bring our first collection of songs into the world with and through Exitus Stratagem Records,” shares the band. “This record is a personal journey. Sonically, we brought the hammer. Lyrically, we brought a bigger hammer—and we intend to beat out a place in the world for us and our brand of metalcore.”

“We pushed ourselves musically,” the band explains. “‘Time Hunts Us All’ is the fastest Jawfane song by a mile, contains the most vocals, and is in a key we don’t use often. It actually started as part of Austin’s audition—he didn’t write the lyrics, but he owns every word of his part. It really shows how collaborative our process is.”

MROME RELEASE "BONEYARD TWIST"

Polish black metal project MROME already released new studio album "Boneyard Twist". Fors fans of 1st wave of black metal.

MROME was formed in 1995 by four elements joined in the frenzy of youth under the name Kingdom. They wanted to go there, from where others wish to run. The band recorded several demos and in 2001 their debut album "Transition", the soundtrack to artless rebellion, disillusionment and naive satanism, which was never released. The band disbanded a year later. In 2009, vocalist, guitarist and lyricist Key V decided to continue as MROME. Soon after the original drummer P. and bass player LV's joined the lineup. In 2024 bass player left and the new vocalist/lyricist aT joined.

As they say: „MROME is entirely a studio project focused on creative process and concepts behind the music, lyrics and graphics. We are not a touring band. We are not interested in promoting the band by lame photo sessions and social media. We reap the harvest on scorched soil".

After resuming their activity, the band has released 3 albums so far:

"Noetic Collision on the Roof of Hell" (2018, EEE recordings, USA) contains a strong anti-religious message as a reference to the lagacy of Kingdom,

"Leech Ghetto" (2019, NRA, PL) is lyrically concerned more about prophetic content as greed, war and isolation.

"Barbaric Values" (2022, NRA, PL) is a concept album based upon the moral and ethical conflict between socially imposed conditions and primordial nature of man. 

 

Now, MROME is preparing for relasing new album titled "Boneyard Twist".

It consist of 9 raw tracks recorded live in studio are a kind of return to dark roots of the band from the mid 90's. The music inspired by the first wave black metal is complemented by unpleasant lyrics dealing with grave residents, history, disabilities of body and mind, necromancy and ...monks exploding! 

The music was recorded in a one-day session on November 18, 2023 at Heaven's Sound Studio under the ear of Marcin Piekło, who also worked out the final sound of the album. Vocals were recorded in February 2024 at Piekłoniebo. The author of the painting used on the front cover is Mateusz Gawęda, but all was designed by Ataman Tolovy. 

Album "Boneyard Twist" was released on June 23, 2025 digitally and on tape by NRA. NRA is part of the collective gathering around the Rusty Nails Museum, which is a co-op of spiritually disabled people associated with Piekłoniebo. Tapes are available for purchase on Bandcamp.

Rainbow Bridge was born in 2006 inspired by the sounds of the Jimi Hendrix Experience and classics power-trio from the late sixties. Right from the start the band tried to give a personal touch with a strong attitude to the heavy blues psychedelic jam. The band played in many rock & blues festivals over the years - Blues in Town, Wood In stock, Jimi Hendrix Live Festival, Campania Blues, Bitonto Blues, South Italy Blues Connection, Blues a Balues, Dogana Blues, Freakout Stoned Fest ecc. - and opened for bands like Oh Sees, Putan Club & more. Over time, several bassists have come and gone in the band but when Fabio in late 2015 joining trio, the band started producing new music. Since 2017, four self-produced albums have been released on Bandcamp - plus a live album and a cover album - with very positive feedback from the press and critics even outside Italy. The Band is featured on the first volume of the "Stoner Freak Anthology" – an essential guide of the contemporary stoner rock scene - with second album "Lama".
