THŪN RELEASE "IV: CHANGELING"

PRESS RELEASE:

Album name: IV: Changeling

Release date: 06.11.2026

Location: UK/US

Newest single: “The Absurd Duty” - LISTEN HERE

Bio: International metal collective THŪN returns with its fourth album, Changeling, to be released on the 6th of November via Eat Lead and Die Music.

Featuring Jon Higgs (guitar/vocals; MONSTERWORKS, MOOSE CULT, THE LIVING FIELDS) alongside James Knoerl (drums; AVIATIONS, GARGOYL), THŪN once again welcomes Karl Sanders of NILE, who provides guest lead guitar on all tracks.

On Changeling, THŪN continues to carve out its own peculiar take on extreme(ish) metal: epic death metal spliced with discordant doom, but with a clear foundation in old-school SABBATH and PRIEST influences.

THŪN remains an international, virtual collaboration. With the musicians based in the UK and US, each member handled his own recording and production before the material was brought together for final mixing by Jon, followed by Dan Swanö's masterful touch at Unisound; with an emphasis on preserving dynamics. The loudness war is one fight we'd rather lose.

Jon says:

“This album has been a long time coming. The drums were recorded at the same time as the third album, at a guess about four years ago, and it has been hiding in the shadows ever since. With a half dozen other musical projects on the boil, I just needed to find the time to knuckle down and get lyrics and guitars finished. Luckily, Karl was also off tour and there was an open window for him to smash out the leads. It's great for this to finally see the light of day.”

THŪN (or THUN for the sake of web optimisation) began as an outlet for new music created during the Coronavirus pandemic of 2020/21. Guitarist/vocalist Jon had an enormous backlog of material that was not going to make it out into the world in the name of his “main band” Monsterworks anytime soon, simply due to restricted travel and inaccessibility to studios or jam spaces. So the only solution was to find new ways to remotely record and produce the music. Jon is based just north of London, UK.

The first man on board was James Knoerl on drums. Being a professional session drummer, he had the gear set up and ready to go. James is based in Manhattan – NYC.

But, who to play lead?

About 15 years ago Jon met Karl Sanders for a guitar lesson before a Nile gig in London. Since Karl's name popped up after a bit of research looking for session players, he seemed like a logical choice given the earlier, albeit tenuous, connection. Karl liked the material and particularly appreciated the doominess, being a little different to his usual projects.

THŪN was a concept based band intended to be Bull Elephant adjacent (another band in the Eat Lead and Die roster) with vaguely cosmic horror mixed with ecological destruction themes; however, it has evolved slightly outside that remit now. The fourth album CHANGELING is not really a concept album at all, although if you squint hard enough there is probably a common thread running through it in line with the original mission statement.

Set for release on September 25, 2026 , “Shapeshifter” introduces listeners to the strange and expansive sonic world of Ascension Rock , with an accompanying official music video also in the works. The single will lead into the album’s full release on October 23, 2026 .

Drawing from doom metal, stoner rock, psych doom, hard rock, and traditional heavy metal, Hexecutioner crafts a sound built around massive riffs, melodic weight, psychedelic atmosphere, and a sense of ominous exploration. Ascension Rock pushes that formula into more epic territory, creating a record where crushing heaviness meets the feeling of something far more mysterious lurking just beyond the veil.

The band describes the world surrounding Ascension Rock as one of “high strangeness,” where energies of darkness and light, old and new, collide through wormholes, unseen forces, altered dimensions, and sound frequency rituals.

Following Hexecutioner’s well-received 2025 sophomore album, Tornit , Ascension Rock marks another step forward for the band. KINGCROWN RELEASE "MOONFALL"

PRESS RELEASE:

French melodic heavy/power metal band KINGCROWN releases their new album “Moonfall” today, September 4th, 2026, via Rockshots Records, accompanied by the official video for “We Are Kingcrown”.

For fans of Iron Maiden, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Masterplan, Symphony X and Powerwolf, “Moonfall” follows 2024’s “Nova Atlantis” and develops the band’s melodic heavy/power metal sound across ten tracks exploring technological evolution, artificial intelligence, temporal displacement, apocalypse and the uncertain future of humanity.

While these themes shape much of the album, “We Are Kingcrown” shifts the focus directly onto the band. Driven by a straightforward heavy/power metal approach, melodic guitars and an immediate chorus, the song reflects KINGCROWN’s identity and their connection with the audience.

As the band explains: “It’s simply about us, who we are, what we exude, what we want to give you. We are Kingcrown!”

“Moonfall” expands on the conceptual direction established with “Nova Atlantis”, using science-fiction and dystopian scenarios to examine different possible futures. The title track imagines a final encounter between the Moon and Earth as a lunar apocalypse approaches.

The technological theme takes a darker turn on “Rise Of Machines”, where artificial intelligence turns against humanity, while “All United” focuses on resistance and collective survival. Elsewhere, “A Thousand Years” draws on relativity and space travel, and “Lost Horizon” follows a World War II B-17 pilot caught in a temporal vortex and transported from 1945 to 2045.

The album also reconnects with the musical roots behind KINGCROWN through “Back To The 80’s”, a tribute to a decade that left a defining mark on heavy metal. Closing track “Beyond The Stars” brings the record’s futuristic narrative to its conclusion, looking beyond the destruction of Earth and towards what might exist elsewhere in the universe.

Produced by KINGCROWN, “Moonfall” was mixed and mastered by Simone Mularoni at Domination Studio, bringing together the band’s European melodic heavy and power metal roots with a contemporary production.

About:

Kingcrown is a French melodic heavy/power metal band founded by brothers Jo Amore (vocals) and David Amore (drums), both former members of Nightmare.

The project traces its origins back to 2015 with the band Öblivïon, formed following their departure from Nightmare. After the release of Resilience, the group adopted the name Kingcrown in 2018, marking the beginning of a more defined artistic direction rooted in the European heavy/power metal tradition.

From the outset, Kingcrown established a sound built on strong melodic structures, dynamic riffing, and a clear emphasis on songwriting effectiveness. Drawing from the legacy of bands such as Iron Maiden, Helloween, and Gamma Ray, the band combines classic influences with a modern production approach, resulting in a sound that is both accessible and structurally solid.

Following the release of "A Perfect World" (2019) and "Wake Up Call" (2022), Kingcrown entered a new phase with "Nova Atlantis" (2024), released via Rockshots Records. The album marked a clear step forward in terms of cohesion, production quality, and conceptual direction, receiving strong feedback from both audiences and specialized media.

Building on this momentum, the band continues its collaboration with Rockshots Records for "Moonfall", scheduled for release in 2026. The new album further develops Kingcrown’s identity through a more focused songwriting approach and a broader conceptual framework centered on dystopian themes, technological evolution, and temporal dislocation.

The first single, "Lost Horizon", expands the narrative universe introduced in "Nova Atlantis", acting as a direct sequel to "Endless Journey" and introducing a time-travel storyline in which a WWII B-17 pilot is propelled into the year 2045. This approach reflects the band’s growing interest in combining structured songwriting with narrative continuity.

Kingcrown’s current lineup - Jo Amore (vocals), David Amore (drums), Sébastien Chabot (bass), Bob Saliba (guitars), and Ced Legger (guitars) - has remained stable across recent releases, contributing to a consistent and cohesive musical direction.

With a steadily evolving discography and a clear artistic vision, Kingcrown has established itself as a credible presence within the European metal scene, balancing melodic immediacy, conceptual depth, and production precision.

ISKALD RELEASE NEW SINGLE: "THE OTHER REALM"

PRESS RELEASE:

ISKALD: Norwegian melodic black metallers finally unleash first single "The Other Realm" from upcoming album "Curse of the Mind"

Norwegian melodic black metal veterans ISKALD have finally released “The Other Realm”, the first and only single from their highly anticipated sixth full-length album, “Curse of the Mind”, due out on September 25th, 2026 via Dusktone.

After two teasers offering fragmented glimpses into the record, “The Other Realm” opens the door to the album's first chapter in full. Vast, cold and deeply atmospheric, the track combines ISKALD's characteristic melodic black metal with a more imposing and immersive approach, moving between driving passages and expansive sections where melody and atmosphere take centre stage. It is the first complete piece from “Curse of the Mind” and provides a decisive introduction to the psychological descent at the heart of the album.

Stream "The Other Realm" at THIS LOCATION.

Frontman Aage Krekling comments:

"With 'The Other Realm' we finally open the gate.

After two teasers that were meant as invocations - fragments from across the whole album - it felt right that the first complete song should be the beginning of the story itself. 'The Other Realm' is Chapter I, The Descent. It is that moment of realization when you understand you are already in Helheim. Not dead, but empty. The vastness, the cold, the isolation - that stark, Norse-inspired landscape is not fantasy for us, it is the shape taken by inner darkness.

Musically it contains everything 'Curse of the Mind' is about - fast and brutal yet melancholy and atmosphere with dynamic that breathes, built by this five-piece line-up for the first time. 'The Other Realm' It's an opening assault that drags you straight into the new unknown - where blasting intensity collides with fragile, mournful melody. If the teasers were the doorway, this is the first step into the void. The rest should be experienced as one piece."

Following the acclaimed "Innhøstinga" (2018), the new album marks the beginning of a new chapter for the band after signing with Dusktone in early 2026. Available on colored LP, black LP, CD Box and CD, "Curse of the Mind" was recorded during the summer of 2025 at Strand Studio in Beiarn, mixed and mastered by Hallstein Sandvin, and features artwork by SG7 Graphics.

For over two decades, ISKALD have stood among the leading names in Norwegian melodic black metal. Now performing as a five-piece, the band expands its trademark northern sound with its most ambitious and immersive work to date.

Built as a conceptual journey, "Curse of the Mind" unfolds through four interconnected chapters linked by ritualistic invocations, exploring themes of psychological torment, inner conflict, fragile hope and ultimate sacrifice. Framed within a stark, Norse-inspired vision of Helheim, the story is mythological in setting but deeply psychological at its core. Helheim is not merely a place, it is the shape taken by inner darkness. The true battlefield is the mind itself.

The album unfolds in four movements, connected by four ritual Invocations:

I. The Other Realm – The Descent

Vast emptiness, fog and isolation.

II. Manifestation of Madness – The Prison

Doubt, fragmentation and psychological collapse.

III. A Burden of Hope – The Fragile Light

Strength found through accepting the darkness within.

IV. The Sacrifice – The Ritual

Before the throne of Hela, suffering becomes meaningful.

Tracklist:

1. Curse of the Mind – Invocation I

2. The Other Realm

3. Curse of the Mind – Invocation II

4. Manifestation of Madness

5. Curse of the Mind – Invocation III

6. A Burden of Hope

7. Curse of the Mind – Final Invocation

8. The Sacrifice

Line-up:

Aage Krekling – Vocals

Simon Larsen – Guitars

Ben Hansen – Guitars

Isak Larsen – Drums

Tobias Aubert – Bass

Upcoming ISKALD concerts:

Bodø/Sinus: 03.10.2026

Oslo/Vaterland: 24.10.2026

Trondheim/(TBA): 29.01.2027

Biography:

ISKALD were formed in 2005 in Sortland, Northern Norway, by Simon Larsen and Aage Krekling, with the ambition of creating a distinctive form of melodic black metal deeply connected to the atmosphere of the Arctic north. After the self-released "Northern Twilight" EP, the band gained international attention with their debut album "Shades of Misery" (2007), establishing themselves as one of the most promising acts in the Norwegian scene.

Throughout their career, ISKALD have developed a sound where cold melodies, aggression and atmospheric depth coexist, drawing inspiration from nature, Norse heritage and existential themes. Their discography includes acclaimed albums such as "Revelations of Reckoning Day" (2008), "The Sun I Carried Alone" (2011), "Nedom og Nord" (2014) and "Innhøstinga" (2018), each marking a further evolution of their artistic vision.

Having performed at festivals including Inferno Festival, Midgardsblot, Hove Festival and by:Larm, and shared stages with major names in extreme metal, ISKALD now enter a new phase with Dusktone. The partnership leads to the release of "Curse of the Mind", their sixth full-length album and first concept record, arriving in 2026.

TRIVAN RELEASE NEW SINGLE: "ABYSS OF CRAWLING SHADOWS"

PRESS RELEASE:

Croatian black metal band TRIVAN has released a new single, called "Abyss of Crawling Shadows. The band is currently working on their new single “Crowned with Dread and Power” which is currently in final mix/master

TRIVAN is a black metal band from Zagreb, Croatia. But besides black metal they are developing an identity that does not need to fit neatly into one subgenre. The band´s music follows a continuous philosophy of descent → vow → opposition → inner struggle →ascent/transformation.

Trivan was founded in Croatia in 2018 by guitarist and composer Vanja Šantak and bassist Ivan Bertović, alongside a mutual school friend on drums. The band's initial momentum was abruptly interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, a period of imposed silence that the members used for deep reflection, reconsidering the band's direction, identity, and long-term purpose.

Emerging from that silence with greater clarity, Trivan underwent a significant transformation. Vanja brought in Tomislav Žiljak, former vocalist of the black metal act Darkendome, as lead singer, whose voice and vision aligned with the project's evolving philosophy. When the original drummer stepped away to dedicate himself to family and professional life, Tomislav recommended his former Darkendome bandmate Robert Vlašić, an experienced and forceful drummer who gave Trivan renewed stability and momentum.

In 2025, the lineup was completed with the addition of rhythm guitarist Marin Buljan. Marin's role became both structural and creative, expanding the guitar architecture, delivering a heavier and fuller sonic foundation, and allowing Vanja greater freedom to pursue lead guitar work, atmospheric layering, and compositional complexity.

With a stable and cohesive lineup in place, Trivan intensified its output. Their music explores existential crisis, suffering, spiritual defiance, and inner transformation through the uncompromising language of extreme metal. The band places emphasis on demanding arrangements, lyrical depth, and emotional precision: music designed not merely to be heard, but to be experienced.

WAYLANDER RELEASE VIDEO FOR "MACHA"

PRESS RELEASE:

Northern Irish Pagan Metal pioneers WAYLANDER will release their new album, "Mac Tíre - Son of the Land", on November 6th, 2026 via Rockshots Records. The band introduces the record with its first single, “Macha”, accompanied by an official music video. For fans of Skyclad, Eluveitie and Korpiklaani.

More than three decades after their formation in Northern Ireland, WAYLANDER return with "Mac Tíre - Son of the Land", a nine-track album rooted in the landscapes, mythology and cultural heritage of Ireland. The record continues the path the band has followed since the early 1990s, combining extreme metal with traditional Irish instrumentation and Pagan themes.

While "Mac Tíre - Son of the Land" is not a concept album in the same way as its predecessor, "Ériú’s Wheel", its songs share a strong connection with the land and the stories embedded within it. The title itself reflects this relationship: Mac Tíre, literally “son of the land”, is the Irish term for the wolf, an animal closely connected with Ireland’s natural past.

Musically, the album represents a natural evolution of WAYLANDER’s established sound, retaining the balance between metal aggression and traditional Irish elements that has defined the band throughout its career.

The first single, “Macha”, is dedicated to the ancient Goddess whose connection to WAYLANDER is both mythological and deeply personal. “Macha” is associated with the area the band calls home: both Ard Chieftain O’Hagan’s hometown and the county from which WAYLANDER originates bear her name.

“Macha is the Goddess of the area where we live. My hometown and the county where we're from are both named after Macha. The time felt right to celebrate her in song, and we believe we have written a song worthy of her,” says Ard Chieftain O’Hagan

For WAYLANDER, mythology is not simply material drawn from a distant past but something that remains present in the landscapes, place names and traditions surrounding them. “Macha” reflects that relationship while providing the first introduction to the themes running through "Mac Tíre - Son of the Land".

Whistles, Irish bouzouki, bodhrán, and Uilleann pipes remain integral elements of the band’s musical identity.

RATTLESNAKES RELEASE "SHADOWS IN THE NIGHT"

PRESS RELEASE:

With their wrath - filled riffs, powerhouse growls and our sweat dripping, head - banging, intoxicating live shows, Rattlesnakes are a Nottingham based heavy metal band that even the most faithful companions cannot resist a night with. Charisma for days and melodies that can't be wiped away as easily as last night's eyeliner, you don't wanna miss the chance to see them in action!

Their debut EP, “Deeper Shades Of Torment”, released on April 11th 2025, and it has been met with critical acclaim, thousands of streams, high review scores, as well as a successful headline tour with multiple sold out and high selling dates.

RATTLESNAKES, having only debuted in 2024, are soaring their way to the top of the heavy metal ladder and gaining a reputation as one of the most exciting and refreshing, up and coming Hard Rock/Heavy Metal acts in the UK! Having signed to Listenable Records in January of 2026, RATTLESNAKES are continually proving themselves to be a promising, soon to be staple name in the Metal scene.

With a sound that cuts with the sharp steel of the 80's NWOBHM, and a modern twist of speed metal prowess, this band continue to break through stereotypes while maintaining the heart and soul of true heavy metal, paving the way for female fronted bands of the 21st century and being an inspiration to many.

“A tale of light, that leads to the rainbow. We are the SHADOWS IN THE NIGHT!”

SOME WORDS ABOUT THE ALBUM:

“'Shadows In The Night' has been in the making for quite some time, if you take into account the songwriting process as well as the recording process. I think I speak for us all when I say that we believe we’ve raised the bar in comparison to our debut EP, “Deeper Shades Of Torment”. When it comes to lyrical context, this song is based around aliens impersonating humans/doppelgängers. We wanted this to portray a very 80’s thriller film vibe and there are other hints to this theme throughout the album like on the instrumental track ‘Dreamland’.

The album contains something for everyone, from a stylistic perspective and in a lyrical sense. Songs such as ‘Shadows in The Night’, ‘Destroyer’ and ‘Lost Nor Found’ were written to appeal to all the Speed Metal Maniacs in our fanbase, whereas cuts like “Forever” and “Where The River Meets The Sea” delve more into our melodic side, and may potentially even speak to new audiences not yet part of our community. Shadows In The Night is definitely an album where any music fan, not strictly Rock or Heavy Metal, can find something that they enjoy, for one reason or another.

From a songwriting and influence perspective, a few of the songs on the album have been main stays of our live set since the “Deeper Shades Of Torment” mini album era, particularly “For Even Gods Can Die”, which seems to be a fan favourite live track!

It’s difficult to say what the overall influence on the album has been, as we’ve all got fairly eclectic music tastes. Most of us have our roots firmly planted in the Heavy Metal of the 70s and 80s, whilst others may be more inclined to bands of the 2000s. There are shades of all eras of metal throughout the album. Tracks like ‘The Other Side Of Midnight’ and ‘For Even Gods Can Die’ carrying the traditional NWOBHM gallop, with gang vocals, melody and lyrics more akin to a vintage record from bands like Saxon, Praying Mantis or Tygers Of Pan Tang.

On the other hand, ‘Spellbound’ takes vintage riffing, and conjoins it with a more modern rhythm section style beat, that all melds together and climaxes creating one of my personal favourite choruses of the record. Think Dokken style riffs, with Avenged Sevenfold drums and bass, with lyrics about being on the victim side of a narcissistic relationship, with a vocal delivery that blends James Hetfield with Noora Louhimo… believe me when I say this album has something for everybody haha!

Lyrically, the album explores a variety of topics, ranging from real world issues such as corruption, over-modernisation of day to day life and the human struggle with mental health. Other topics delve further into more supernatural, fantastical themes such as religion, demonic entities and extraterrestrial beings… we can’t wait to share this with the world and let our fans make their own interpretations of our lyrics!

Two standout tracks would be ‘Breakdown’ and ‘Where The River Meets The Sea’ due to their lyrical content. ‘Breakdown’ explores the topic of mental health, but in less of a straight up, black and white depiction. The song explores themes of wanting to reach out to a religious figure in times of need, but feeling ignored, loosing faith all together and battling suicidal thoughts. I think that some of the lyrics particularly the ones used in the verses, are some of my favourites on the album. For example using ‘Ending, won’t be a 1056A’ is a very powerful lyric and if you know what a 1056A is then you will know why.

“Where The River Meets The Sea” is completely different from anything we’ve done before, musically and lyrically. This song explores the overarching subject of modern life, and the human yearning to go back to older ways of life, written from the perspective of a woman. The song contains lyrics that I believe are Rowena’s best writing ever, with a mix of metaphorical and literal phrases, this song is a true love letter to mother nature and the relationship she and many other women long have with it. It is a rejection to the ideals that modern life has crammed us into and the fact that living amongst nature is considered almost a fantasy.

The influences on the album as a whole range all the way from Anthrax, Dio, Testament, Judas Priest and WASP, to Alter Bridge, Ghost, Enforcer and even smaller, underground bands such as The Wran or High Fade.

We truly believe that we’ve created a diverse, gripping, and engaging 21st century Heavy Metal record, and are dying to share with our fans what we’ve been working on…
