DECONSEKRATED is an occult death metal band hailing from the cold, rain-soaked south of Chile. Founded in 2020 by guitarist Agorh Skullptor, the project initially began as the vision of three like-minded "black souls" before evolving into a full five-piece lineup. The band's music explores themes of death, the desecration of Christian dogma, and spiritual transmutation, translating these concepts into a dark and uncompromising sonic identity.

In 2024, DECONSEKRATED released the EP "Ascension in the Altar of Condemned", issued on CD by Iron Blood and Death (Mexico), on vinyl by Futhark Records (Canada), reissued on CD by Alkolik Holocaust Records (Argentina), and released on cassette by Ancient Sounds of Madness Productions (Poland) and Infernal South Productions (Chile).

The band has shared the stage with renowned acts such as Master, Malevolent Creation, and Morta Skuld, while also performing in Argentina and at the now legendary Ossum Total Death Festival in Mexico City. UK death metal force The Bleeding return today with their new album, Godless Communion, OUT NOW worldwide via Redefining Darkness Records.

Marking a defining new chapter for the band, Godless Communion introduces Craig Land (ex-De Profundis) as The Bleeding's new frontman following the departure of longtime vocalist Germ. Rather than simply replacing vocals on an already completed record, Craig's arrival ultimately reshaped portions of the album around his distinctive delivery, pushing The Bleeding's already vicious combination of death metal brutality and thrash-fueled aggression into even darker and more sinister territory.

At the same time, Godless Communion reaches throughout The Bleeding's history and into the wider death metal underground. Italian black metallers Amthrya have released “Shūdan Bōrei”, their brand new single, accompanied by an official lyric video.

The track is the first official single taken from Onnen, the band’s upcoming album, due for release on 11 October on digital platforms and as a digipak CD via Ad Noctem Records.

“Shūdan Bōrei” (集団亡霊) takes its story to the shores of Izu, where history and legend collide. In the aftermath of a Second World War bombing, 250 people are said to have been swallowed by the sea. Ten years later, their unresolved rage transforms the victims into executioners.

Driven by an unrelenting grudge, the ghosts of Izu drag the living into the depths, trapping them in an endless cycle of death.

Black Metal

Italian black metal band AMTHRYA return with their new album "Onnen", set for release on October 11th, 2026 via Ad Noctem Records. The album will be available on digipack CD and across digital platforms.

Fronted by Kasumi Onryō, AMTHRYA are known for dissonant atmospheres and imagery rooted in Japanese folklore and mythology. "Onnen" opens a new chapter for the band and arrives alongside the introduction of a revamped line-up.

The album takes its title from the Japanese concept of Onnen (怨念), understood as deep-seated rancour or persistent hatred. AMTHRYA use that idea as the foundation for a record centred on hatred as a physical, metaphysical and universal force.

Structured as a five-act opera, "Onnen" follows that force as it spreads through reality, fuels wars, poisons spaces and eventually drives the world towards ruin.

New Jersey death metal architects OCEAN OF ILLUSIONS will unleash their new EP, Nexus, on October 30th via Bleeding Art Collective.

OCEAN OF ILLUSIONS has been pushing the boundaries of the extreme music genre since their inception, as captured on their debut album Unrecognizable (2022) and single release “Helminth.” Layered dynamics, pit inducing hooks, and crushing breakdowns all find a place in the band's repertoire. Traversing influences that range from European melodic death metal, through to djentcore and New York death metal, OCEAN OF ILLUSIONS can pull together these broad influences to create a sound that stands apart.

With the release of the new singles “Nexus” and “Doomed” in 2025, and the video for “Doomed” reaching 129K views on Slam Worldwide, the band has further expanded and refined their sound, where moments of introspection, weight and massive groove all combine to deliver the bands best work to date.

The band comments, “‘Nexus’ is defined as a connection or series of connections linking two or more things or a central focal point. The definition resonated with us and what we're trying to accomplish. This EP is a good representation of each band member's style artistically, testing the waters to see what we’re capable of. The plan was to have every member write a song in their style and we mesh it into what we already had going. When we could see the difference from where we started with high tides to what we're doing now, we knew we had something special. We were anxious and had doubts but once the finished product came out, we were surprised with the outcome. 

“There was a lot of back and forth but it was worth it in the end for what we were able to create. Sometimes we are aligned with our emotions and other times we are not. I think that’s why our music takes on a couple styles and forms. We all come with different perspectives of heavy music so it makes it a bit interesting. While some of the tracks may be callbacks to Unrecognizable thematically, instrumentally we experimented with different styles for this EP.”

In advance of the EP’s release, today the band drops a video for “Ash Hoarder,” noting “This song explores the duality of fire – to bring warmth or cause irreparable damage. This song highlighted Josh’s style of playing, he focused on the riffs, and if the crowd could dance to it . This song is on brand for signature style.”

Emerging Montreal metal trio OMBRA has officially released their debut EP "Night Terror," out now as of September 14th, 2026. Rooted in old‑school thrash, sludge, groove metal, and psychedelic rock, the five‑track conceptual project delivers a visceral, front‑to‑back descent into fear, obsession, chemical collapse, and the psychological weight of modern life, blending raw emotion, razor‑sharp riffs, and the band’s signature fusion of horror and real‑world chaos.

​Formed by lifelong friends Giuseppe “G” Criniti (vocals/guitar), Marco Sisti (guitar/bass), and Nico‑Angelo Sisti (drums), OMBRA evolved naturally from their previous cult acts NRTH and Hidden Pride. The trio grew up together in Lachine, attended the same schools, and came from families who immigrated from Italy together, making the band’s formation feel less like a decision and more like destiny. In late 2020, G and Marco left NRTH to pursue heavier music, and Nico, Marco’s cousin and a respected drummer in the Montreal scene, joined shortly after departing Hidden Pride.

​A true concept EP about fear, collapse, and the human condition, "Night Terror" was written between 2021 and 2026. ÜBERCHRIIST RELEASE "DÆMONIC APOTHEOSIS"

U.S. Black Metal band Überchriist are set to release their second full-length album, Dæmonic Apotheosis, on September 25 via Deanwell Global Music.

"Anti-Phoenix Descent," the album's first single, is available on streaming platforms, including Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.

First coming together in embryonic form in 2010 by two local musicians whose human names are long forgotten, Überchriist formed with the purpose of transcending the boundaries between human, demon and god. Now a quartet, the band has spent the years since sharpening that idea into Dæmonic Apotheosis. What phantasmagorical wonders and horrors could await in this unconscious realm of the unknown? For only facing the deepest darkness can bring true enlightenment, and that is the ultimate goal of this musical undertaking.

Transformation is the thread running through Dæmonic Apotheosis. Ten tracks, 38:23, and most of them pull downward. Apotheosis is elevation to the divine, and on this record the road there runs straight down.

"Anti-Phoenix Descent" opens the album and was the first single. It leans on maritime musical themes, a journey down into the abyss in the company of the titular water elemental, and it works as a battle cry for the madness that follows. "Serpent's Shroud," the forthcoming second single (9/18/26) turns inward. Tears, terror, and the last threads of the mortal coil fall away, and the serpent offers the shroud of transformation. Being wrapped in it is not burial. It's rebirth. Relentless blast beats carry the self down layer by layer into the voids beneath the darkest lands. The other eight songs go through the abyss, demonic transformation, hell, tombs, voids, and rites carried out somewhere well below ground level.

Musically this is classic black metal at the root. Blast beats, tremolo picking, all the cold. But the band lets melody in when a song asks for it, and there's a real streak of old-school heavy metal in the riffing.

"'Crystal Skies' is probably my favorite track on the album, and has been since I first heard it re-recorded and brought to this age. It's an interesting piece in the sense that the lyrics actually have somewhat of a positive undertone."

Formed in Finland in 2019 by Jussi Hänninen, best known as the primary songwriter of Fall of the Leafe between 1996 and 2007, AUTUMNFALL emerged as a continuation of the musical sensibility that characterized the earlier years of that influential band. Joined by vocalist Tero Ruohonen, Hänninen has developed the project into a vehicle for revisiting old ideas while giving them renewed shape and purpose.

Following "Ghosts of Light" (2021), "Bleak" (2022) and "The Archaic Shadows" (2024), "The Archaic Sins" once again draws heavily from the past. With just one completely new composition, the album is primarily built around songs written between 1998 and 2001, now brought into the present through fresh arrangements and performances.

The result is fluid, finely arranged melodic black metal that never needs grand gestures to make its impact. AUTUMNFALL weave melodies together continuously, allowing guitars and rhythms to move with a natural, unforced sense of progression. The music can evoke wonder one moment and bitterness the next, shifting between emotional shades without ever disrupting its graceful flow.

Carefully considered rhythmic patterns provide a solid foundation for compositions that remain loose and organic, while the constant interplay of melodies gives the album its distinctive character. There is an unmistakable sense of musicians who have spent decades understanding how songs work, knowing when to add detail and, just as importantly, when to let an idea breathe.

Whether described as melodic extreme metal, dark metal or simply AUTUMNFALL, "The Archaic Sins" offers a sound rooted in experience, melody and atmosphere: material from another era that finds an unexpectedly natural home in the present.
