Unleashed in 2024 by multi-instrumentalist Mark Raziel in Augsburg, Germany, Praise of Death is a solo death metal project featuring Finnish vocalist Topias Jokipii. Barcelona-based Estertor is streaming “Scumbags From Hell,” featuring Paul Lanerck (from Redshark) as a guest vocalist. This preview track serves as the second single from their third album, Evil Black Church, slated for October 23 via Black Lion Records on CD, vinyl, and digital formats; Cruel Gates Records will handle a limited cassette edition. The thrash/black/death album is a tribute to the works of the Italian Masters of Horror, including Lucio Fulci, Lamberto Bava, Mario Bava, and Michele Soavi.

Speaking about “Scumbags From Hell,” Estertor states:

“‘Scumbags From Hell’ is a double tribute.

“First of all, the lyrics are about the movie ‘Demons’ by Lamberto Bava and produced by Dario Argento. 

“It’s an irreverent, macabre film with a spectacular soundtrack. It’s about how a movie theater becomes infested with angry demons that spit green slime. 

“And on the other hand, we’re also paying tribute to Accept, specifically to ‘Fast As A Shark,’ a song that plays in the movie when the protagonist, riding a motocross bike, decapitates the demons with a katana.”

Evil Black Church is entirely dedicated to the great classics of Italian horror cinema, including The Church, Demons, Black Sunday, The Beyond, and Stage Fright, and centered around the figure of the Devil, evil, and blasphemy in the seventh art. It is Estertor’s own Necronomicon of classic cinema, featuring new compositional elements, with influences ranging from Bathory, Celtic Frost, and Sodom to American death metal bands such as Massacre and Obituary, alongside guitar solos worthy of the most macabre heavy metal.

Estertor emerged from the darkness at the beginning of 2016, comprised of veteran musicians from the Catalan extreme metal scene who have played in bands such as Ered, Decapitated Christ, Onirophagus, Wild Road Roller, Falç, and Blazemth. Sharing the stage with bands such as Necrophobic and Sacramentum, and touring throughout the country and Portugal, Estertor have made a name for themselves in the thrash scene. Their live performance is wild, detailed, and ruthless, with the four members becoming one on stage and delivering a sound that is totally old-school and accurate.

In 2017, they released Buried in Morningside, their first full-length, compiling older songs from the band. In 2021, during the pandemic, the band locked themselves away in their tombs to compose Tales From The Ancient Grave, a much more aggressive album than its predecessor. It was released on CD by War Anthem Records, on red vinyl by Deaf Sparrow (USA), and on splatter and black vinyl in Europe by Carabrecol, Little Jan Hammer, and Global Help Records.

DECONSEKRATED is an occult death metal band hailing from the cold, rain-soaked south of Chile. UK death metal force The Bleeding return today with their new album, Godless Communion, OUT NOW worldwide via Redefining Darkness Records.

Marking a defining new chapter for the band, Godless Communion introduces Craig Land (ex-De Profundis) as The Bleeding's new frontman following the departure of longtime vocalist Germ. Rather than simply replacing vocals on an already completed record, Craig's arrival ultimately reshaped portions of the album around his distinctive delivery, pushing The Bleeding's already vicious combination of death metal brutality and thrash-fueled aggression into even darker and more sinister territory.

At the same time, Godless Communion reaches throughout The Bleeding's history and into the wider death metal underground. AMTHRYA RELEASE VIDEO FOR "SHUDAN BOREI"

Italian black metallers Amthrya have released “Shūdan Bōrei”, their brand new single, accompanied by an official lyric video.

The track is the first official single taken from Onnen, the band’s upcoming album, due for release on 11 October on digital platforms and as a digipak CD via Ad Noctem Records.

“Shūdan Bōrei” (集団亡霊) takes its story to the shores of Izu, where history and legend collide. In the aftermath of a Second World War bombing, 250 people are said to have been swallowed by the sea. Ten years later, their unresolved rage transforms the victims into executioners.

Driven by an unrelenting grudge, the ghosts of Izu drag the living into the depths, trapping them in an endless cycle of death.

"Onnen"

Black Metal

Italian black metal band AMTHRYA return with their new album "Onnen", set for release on October 11th, 2026 via Ad Noctem Records. The album will be available on digipack CD and across digital platforms.

Fronted by Kasumi Onryō, AMTHRYA are known for dissonant atmospheres and imagery rooted in Japanese folklore and mythology. "Onnen" opens a new chapter for the band and arrives alongside the introduction of a revamped line-up.

The album takes its title from the Japanese concept of Onnen (怨念), understood as deep-seated rancour or persistent hatred. AMTHRYA use that idea as the foundation for a record centred on hatred as a physical, metaphysical and universal force.

Structured as a five-act opera, "Onnen" follows that force as it spreads through reality, fuels wars, poisons spaces and eventually drives the world towards ruin.

New Jersey death metal architects OCEAN OF ILLUSIONS will unleash their new EP, Nexus, on October 30th via Bleeding Art Collective.

OCEAN OF ILLUSIONS has been pushing the boundaries of the extreme music genre since their inception, as captured on their debut album Unrecognizable (2022) and single release “Helminth.” Layered dynamics, pit inducing hooks, and crushing breakdowns all find a place in the band's repertoire. Traversing influences that range from European melodic death metal, through to djentcore and New York death metal, OCEAN OF ILLUSIONS can pull together these broad influences to create a sound that stands apart.

With the release of the new singles “Nexus” and “Doomed” in 2025, and the video for “Doomed” reaching 129K views on Slam Worldwide, the band has further expanded and refined their sound, where moments of introspection, weight and massive groove all combine to deliver the bands best work to date.

Having shared the stage with titans such as The Black Dahlia Murder, Ingested, The Last Ten Seconds Of Life, Bodysnatcher and others, OCEAN OF ILLUSIONS have now partnered with Bleeding Art Collective for the release of Nexus, just in time for Halloween. 

The band comments, “‘Nexus’ is defined as a connection or series of connections linking two or more things or a central focal point. The definition resonated with us and what we're trying to accomplish. This EP is a good representation of each band member's style artistically, testing the waters to see what we’re capable of. The plan was to have every member write a song in their style and we mesh it into what we already had going. When we could see the difference from where we started with high tides to what we're doing now, we knew we had something special. We were anxious and had doubts but once the finished product came out, we were surprised with the outcome. 

“There was a lot of back and forth but it was worth it in the end for what we were able to create. Sometimes we are aligned with our emotions and other times we are not. I think that’s why our music takes on a couple styles and forms. We all come with different perspectives of heavy music so it makes it a bit interesting. While some of the tracks may be callbacks to Unrecognizable thematically, instrumentally we experimented with different styles for this EP.”

In advance of the EP’s release, today the band drops a video for “Ash Hoarder,” noting “This song explores the duality of fire – to bring warmth or cause irreparable damage. This song highlighted Josh’s style of playing, he focused on the riffs, and if the crowd could dance to it . This song is on brand for signature style.”

Rooted in old‑school thrash, sludge, groove metal, and psychedelic rock, the five‑track conceptual project delivers a visceral, front‑to‑back descent into fear, obsession, chemical collapse, and the psychological weight of modern life, blending raw emotion, razor‑sharp riffs, and the band’s signature fusion of horror and real‑world chaos.

​Formed by lifelong friends Giuseppe “G” Criniti (vocals/guitar), Marco Sisti (guitar/bass), and Nico‑Angelo Sisti (drums), OMBRA evolved naturally from their previous cult acts NRTH and Hidden Pride. The trio grew up together in Lachine, attended the same schools, and came from families who immigrated from Italy together, making the band’s formation feel less like a decision and more like destiny. In late 2020, G and Marco left NRTH to pursue heavier music, and Nico, Marco’s cousin and a respected drummer in the Montreal scene, joined shortly after departing Hidden Pride.

​A true concept EP about fear, collapse, and the human condition, "Night Terror" was written between 2021 and 2026. The EP reflects the band’s lived experiences and observations of a decade marked by upheaval, media distortion, obsession, war, and emotional collapse. The EP is intentionally designed as a continuous experience from Track 1 "Hysteria" through Track 5 "So It Goes", each chapter deepening the psychological descent:

The world has gone through so much change, turmoil, and war; this EP is our commentary on some of the major events of the last decade. Our objective is to encourage others to explore their own minds, make their own opinions, and live true to themselves. This EP reflects our thoughts and observations.
