THIS DAY, IN 1982: VENOM RELEASED "BLACK METAL"

 


On November 1st 1982, british metal masters VENOM released their second album, "Black Metal", a masterpiece of pure metal that has heavily influenced most of extreme metal bands and musicians. After their crushing debut with "Welcome to Hell" the band went one step beyond in their mix of aggressive and dark kind of metal with satanic lyrics. Tracks like "Black Metal", "Buried Alive" and the classic of classics "Countess Bathory" are now essential in any metal fan discography. This album finds the lineup featuring Cronos on bass and vocals, Mantas on guitars and Abaddon on drums at the top of their strength as performers. A metal masterpiece.
