Manchester-based metal outfit BruteAllies release a brand new lyric video for the song "Battlefield", taken off their debut album "Ash & Nails" due for release on 27 11 2020 via Wormholedeath / The Orchard.

BruteAllies are a metal band combining modern Thrash metal with a technical edge and fierce death metal with breathtaking melodies. 

In April 2020 BruteAllies finished the recording of their debut six track album titled “Ash & Nails” produced by Ivan Panferov of Anthropocide studios. Lyrically the album deals with the oppressive realities of war, the raw unforgivingness of pain, the unbearable loss of human life and the living nightmare of post-war existence. Musically “Ash & Nails” is a carefully crafted album with each song capable to stand on its own. UTHULLUN RELEASE NEW TRACK "SILENCE"

Succeeding an EP self-released the past year, the enigmatic ensemble cryptically called UTHULLUN undertakes a crossing through the uttermost nether regions of mind, body, and spirit. As our terrestrial realm is overwhelmed in havoc and bewilderment, the ghastly tome of harmony and discordance aptly titled “Dirges for the Void” hails and scorns the grimness of such hopelessness. For every melody breathes in and below a suffocating miasma of scorching dissonance and that dichotomic element permeates throughout the whole of this grand work.

Musically defiant, overtly intense, this seven-track ordeal marks a step forward in UTHULLUN’s evolution in a multifold way, whether through the piercing technicality of the overall performance or the complexity of the arrangements. Indeed, one faces a maelstrom of sublimely intricate patterns, dissonant shapes, and razor-sharp riffs played with supreme precision and multi-layered tenacity without ever losing an organic feel and depth that at times gets lost in other more dexterous and conceptually ambitious music.

The sonic depth of the production definitely benefits the projection of such a grandiose and multilayered aura, for its cohesive and organic nature compels the music to breathe without sounding forced or artificial. This dynamic attitude transpires within the magnificent rhythmic section. The drumming execution seizes the listener from beginning to end on a tastefully flawless endeavor that for all its elaborate and ornate performance manages to constantly carry a sentient touch of grooving complexity, a close accomplice of the serpentine bass impulses that widen the sonic pallet and enhance the weight of this (dis)harmonic undergo.

As one falls imbued in the instrumental presence, demonic shrieks and screams blaze throughout “Dirges for the Void”, a vocal performance as vicious as it conveys a mystic and somberness that confer an almost otherworldly feel to these 40 minutes.

Released by Wolves of Hades on a Limited Edition LP, UTHULLUN casts a step forward in the direction of the abyss with an opus of sinister Black Metal emanated from the Void, a requiem to the dying soul of a rotten world.

BETRAYEL RELEASE "OFFERINGS"

 

Fresno, California thrash metal band BETRAYEL will release their new album "Offerings" on November 13th. The album is BETRAYEL´s debut album (the band was active from 1985 to 1990 and they came back together in 2019) and the succesor to their  "Raging Death" split with SADUS, XECUTIONER (that later changed their name to OBITUARY), R.A.V.A.G.E. (that later changed their name to ATHEIST) and LETHAL PRESENCE (this split is a classic, a masterpiece of thrash and death metal bands in their early eras) and the "Death Shall Overcome" compilation from 2018. "Offerings" will be released through Divebomb Records and was recorded between February-April 2020 at American Made Studios (at the same building that housed A.I.R. Studios, where their first recording took place in 1986). 2 of the tracks were written in 1989 before the band splitted-up. More info on:

THIS DAY, IN 1982: VENOM RELEASED "BLACK METAL"

 

On November 1st 1982, british metal masters VENOM released their second album, "Black Metal", a masterpiece of pure metal that has heavily influenced most of extreme metal bands and musicians. After their crushing debut with "Welcome to Hell" the band went one step beyond in their mix of aggressive and dark kind of metal with satanic lyrics. Tracks like "Black Metal", "Buried Alive" and the classic of classics "Countess Bathory" are now essential in any metal fan discography.
