Hailing from Indiana, Death On Fire push the boundaries of the death metal genre by taking inspiration from a wide variety of sounds and compositional styles. Originally formed in 2016 by frontman Tim Kenefic, the project soon diverged from its initial intentions and began thriving in the underground metal scene with live performances. To date, Death On Fire have opened for the likes of Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals and Obituary.

Following the release of their 2019 single ‘Killing Time’, and the 2020 LP release ‘Ghost Songs’, Summer 2021 sees the next chapter in their discography with the upcoming release of ‘Six Foot Box’. The three track EP delivers an overall dark, heavy mood with each song embodying a unique aspect of their progressive sound. The title track cultivates a haunting atmosphere with a slow tempo, alluring dissonant lead guitar melody and raw emotional vocals. There is a distinctive Gothic twist as the chorus soars with a mixture of contrapuntal melodies exploring light and dark tones. By contrasting major elements with the minor tonality, the sound gains an uncanny edge. It’s a compositional technique that throws the listener by challenging what feels natural in the context of the sound. ‘A Hell of Our Own Design’ deviates in style to deliver explosive energy, intricate leads and heavy distortion. Before ‘Begging for Air’ dramatically unfolds with droning guitars and intricate riffs. This track is intense, distorted and a little disorientating; it experiments with progressive techniques in their composition to produce an apt sound for the disturbing theme.

Death On Fire venture into unconventional soundscapes to create something that is raw and haunting. The dark deathly themes that run through their music are elevated and the dynamics of their sound deliver a theatrical, aural experience.

Cradle of Haze: New album with old line-up! German gothic rockers "Cradle of Haze" release "Zehntausend Seelen", their 14th studio album. "Zehntausend Seelen" comes with eight crisp and to the point, straightforward gothic rock/gothic metal songs. The lyrics are as usual morbidly gloomy and describe once the dark sides of the humanoid being, primal fears, emotions and desires, socio-critical aspects as well as inglorious characteristics of the human species. Here, too, the true messages of the songs are not always clearly discernible and leave room for the listener's own interpretations.

"Zehntausend Seelen" will be released on May 21, 2021 and is available for download and streaming.

“Vdelygmia” is the second release and first full-length by Edinburgh’s Chestcrush, the solo project by Evangelos Vasilakos . The Greek-born musician has recently published his first demo that received praises from underground metal community and was then physically released by two European labels and sold out quickly afterwards. On this demo, Chestcrush presented their unique and crushing style of Blackened Death Metal and Grindcore, influenced by raging Old School Black Metal and a shattering Sludge / Post Metal. And now the time has come for the world to witness “Vdelygmia” in its utterly terrifying yet fascinating might. 

On “Vdelygmia” Chestcrush reduces melodic influence on a necessary amount, and sets its focus on total sonic annihilation of a listener with vast and severe arsenal of sound weaponry of cover bombing blast beats, napalm burning guitar riffs and blood chilling war cries. Nine anthems of terror and hate lyrically devoted to coping with own mental and physical health tragedies (the band name chosen for a reason) and unbearable abhorrence to the current political situation in Evangelos motherland Greece. 

Title “Vdelygmia” is a Greek word originally spelled “ Βδελυγμία“ which means “abomination”, “filth” and “repulsion” of extreme levels and can be used both to define the feeling and a person, who is sorely corrupted and depraved. And this title completely reflects the musical part of the album which is so beautifully disgusting, violent, horrifyingly brutal and stunningly ugly as a nearly perfect Blackened Death Metal / Grindcore album can be.

DESOLATION ANGELS RELEASE "ROCK´N´ROLLA"

Robin Brancher, original and founding member of NWOBHM band Desolation Angels is working in collaboration on nine new tracks to be released later this 2021. "Rock 'n' Rolla" will be the new album from the band.

Six of these tracks are totally new compositions, opuses that will transcend and go beyond any Desolation Angels output of recent years, or any future releases from Keith (Sharps) Desolation Angels, after the release of Burning Black - that incidentally includes eight compositions from Robin.

Two of the nine tracks are reworked versions of tracks that Robin supplied to the band for the Burning Black recordings with Steve Grimmett in March 2020.

Steve was heading up recording duties for Dissonance Production to produce a new Desolation Angels album release, of which Robin Brancher declined to take part in after the sacking of a new management team that in Robin's opinion would have taken the band on to bigger and greater things. Robin was not consulted or pre-warned of the decision to sack the management team.

Another of the nine tracks to be included in the new album is a very strong song previously unreleased. This song was performed live when Desolation Angels relocated to Los Angeles, but that track never made it into the recording studio.

Robin is working with a variety of musicians for the recording, with engineering, recording and production credits going to Andy Boulton of Tokyo Blade.

All genuine information on the band’s activities, including album releases, gigs and merchandise are the sole property of Robin Brancher, founder member of - and acting for - Desolation Angels. R Brancher owns the rights and trademark. Beware of fake copies!
