Sci-fi themed black metal band Imperialist re-analyse their sound on this EP, tracing their roots and fortifying their sound to make it their most potent and lethal material yet. All the elements that made the band known around the galaxy are there; they've only made their sonic output sharper and tighter and it's also among their fastest and most aggressive material yet. Despite that, they haven't alienated the sentient melodic aspect of their music which is used tastefully on this release. In what comes as a departure from their previous style of artworks, the artwork for Quantum is conspicuously dark and menacing, aptly reflecting the mood of the music. With steely determination, Imperialist are soaring ahead, sparing us a glimpse into their plans for the future where an impregnable new full length release is taking shape.

Every second of this ruthless offering is a feast of vitriol, pulverising all in the path of Engulfed’s unforgiving music. A rare example of a band whose technicality is not their downfall, relying on claustrophobic atmospheres and gargantuan levels of malice while playing superbly. The showmanship is tasteful and the songs never suffer for it, rather leaving you in awe of their undeniable talents which span the whole lineup. Moments of mournful gloom inject some dynamic into the total battery and mayhem, while the drive of this album is infallible and never loses momentum for a second, building tension and mood with its formidable and forceful delivery. Mountain Shadow, who’s self-titled debut will be released this Friday, is Pennsylvanian Folk Death Metal, existing between Archaic Death Metal, Atmospheric Black Metal, Funeral Doom & Bluegrass, exalting Appalachian Horror and the melancholic ruins of nostalgic America.

Damian (Robes of Snow) & his childhood compatriot KA have crafted a self-titled album that draws from different genres of music as well as cinema, folk tales, & literary myth to create Mountain Shadow’s unique sound. Folk & bluegrass can be heard alongside dissonant riffs, pained shrieks, feral growls, and session drummer CJ Yacoub’s furious percussion. Each member’s obsession with horror & the terrors of the natural world can be heard in the field recordings the sparse and haunting synths that permeate the album.

Finnish band Baron are straddling the styles of death and doom metal in a spectacular manner. In their faster, heavier moments, they seem to be a death metal band through and through but when they slow down, they showcase a wholly different dimension to their sound. They are able to do so without altering their imposing, crushing sound and the transitions in pace never seem abrupt but usually culminate into gigantic heaving and stomping parts as if a mountainous, infernal demon like the one on their artwork has decided to awaken after centuries only to mosh. It's the same the other way around, with slower parts building up to an apocalyptic rampage, volcanic fire spewing all over for added effect, and basically all hell breaking loose. It's only fitting that a Finnish band is tasked with this immense responsibility, with heroes from that land having already mastered both the styles and passed the skills down the generations. Baron are then indeed one of the most promising new bands from that part of the world, possessing the strength as well as having the sensibilities required to make this work, with surprisingly cohesive writing and clean, powerful execution.

"After four years contemplating the spatio-temporal void that opened up beneath our feet during Covid, Lares is thrilled to announce our renewed collaboration with Argonauta Records for the release of our third album “Et in Arcadia Ego”.

"Et in Arcadia Ego" was recorded live in our rehearsal studio, mixed by Luca Leprotti (David di Donatello Awards for Best Sound on "Volevo Nascondermi" by Giorgio Dritti) and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege studio in Portland OR (SUNN O))), Sleep, Magma, Obituary) The album is an accidental concept born from the first session we managed to play together after a long and frustrating break necessitated by lockdowns, band members in high risk categories, and mental illness. Without looking for it we found death, isolation, boredom, uncertainty, rage, and an energy that we decided instantly to try to capture and preserve as it was. No additives, no major editing. In the uncertainty of the times, we began to collect recording equipment, slowly transforming our rehearsal space into a recording studio. We developed a ritual of playing and replaying, without click, the whole 27 minutes, until we got better than close to the original, to the perfect simulacra. There is a bonus track included in the album called “10 Hygiea” that is part of the soundtrack of "Music Appreciation", a short horror movie we collaborated with." - says the band

Et in Arcadia Ego

Founded in Berlin in 2015, the international quartet released 2 albums,  "Mask of Discomfort" in 2017, and "Towards Nothingness" in 2020  (Argonauta Records), critically acclaimed by the major platforms like Cult  Nation, Deaf Forever, Rock Hard, Metal Hammer and more. The idea of the name Lares originates from an archaic Roman Etruscan word which means "heroes" and "demons“. A faceless god, an entity that could be molded into any desired shape, believed to observe, protect and influence fate. 

Since the beginning, the band explored different music genres, creating a unique sound in continuous evolution that mixes elements of Doom, Black and Sludge metal, strongly influenced by the 60s and 70s psychedelia and  90s grunge/noise. 

Lares has played and organised concerts locally since the foundation of the band, slowly creating a devoted fan base in Berlin and surrounding areas.  

During this process, especially in the last 2 years, they developed a live sound performance that was captured in a live recording session in their rehearsal studio and that became their third concept album, “Et In Arcadia  Ego". 

 “Et in Arcadia Ego” marks their renewed collaboration with Argonauta  Records and a new chapter for the band, which is looking forward to touring around Europe and releasing more material in the near future.

OLAMOT started in 2021 from the minds of Daniele Boccali (FICTIO SOLEMNIS) and Edoardo Casini (XENOFACTION, DESOURCE), eager to create a musical concept which develops a story lyrically and conceptually ideated by Edoardo Casini.

The first chapter started in 2022 with the release of “Realms” via Lethal Scissor Records, a highly successful 4 track EP which featured the contribution of many renowned musicians and artists, such as Francesco Ferrini (FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE) and Jei Doublerice (DESPITE EXILE). With this first effort the band told the story of Raziel, an individual who aspires to ally with the Devil to become a divinity himself.

The second album, the full-length “Path of Divinity”, sees the band in a bigger context encompassing 9 songs of extreme brutality. The new chapter of the story, based on Raziel’s quest to escape from Hell, musically further develops the intense and profound layers of sound showcased on the EP.

The whole concept will also be developed through a series of books already being written by Edoardo Casini. The same narrative line will be covered by FICTIO SOLEMNIS’ next albums, where the story will be seen by the perspective of the Angel Metatron.
