Active since 1995 and with 5 previous full-lengths under their belts, Russian OLD WAINDS are back on the frozen field.

Picking up where they left off with their previous album, the predominantly fast-paced "Stormheart" reveals itself as ice-cold, yet melancholic and introspective at the same time. Driven by stunning guitar work, completely devoid of unnecessary gimmicks and vocals slightly distorted and rife with murderous contempt, OLD WAINDS delivered one of the best Black Metal albums of the last couple of years.

With their lethal third strike, Triskelyon’s band leader Geoff Waye once again drafted some of the finest emissaries of the Canadian Metal scene. Enlisting the vocal talents of guests Amanda Kiernan (Into Eternity, The Order of Chaos), Eric Forrest (E-Force, ex-VoiVod), Tiina Teal (Détente), Amanda Jackman (Category VI), Armin Kamal (Infrared), Dale Drew (Sea Dogs), Fíochmhar (Artach), and Des Mason & Pete Healey, this album detonates as a pure and true thrash metal masterpiece. It features a unique style and refreshing variations full of thrashing classics! Traditional yet intricate thrash drum duties are exceptionally executed by Raul Marques (Burning Torment), while Dwayne Pike, Keith Jackman (Category VI), Rick White, and Darrin Pope are conscripted on bass.

THUNRAZ RELEASE "INCINERATION DAY"

Experimental death metal duo THUNRAZ has announced a fall release for their newest album, Incineration Day. The album is a collaborative effort between Estonia-based musician Madis Jalakas and US-based drummer Sean Rehmer (Dejecter).

Madis comments on his newest collection of work, "Incineration Day is seven embittered pleas for a final end to a world that continually neglects, poisons, and kills its best and brightest. This album is for everyone whose gifts became a curse."

An experimental death metal project headed by Madis Jalakas, THUNRAZ (thunder in Proto-Germanic) seeks to align itself with primal forces in order to break through personal, philosophical, and musical barriers. Danish metal collective set to unleash years of musical evolution with their highly anticipated debut release through Downfall Records.

Mezmerizer, the Danish metal collective, is proud to announce the release of their debut album Whispers of Leviathan, set for November 29, 2024, through Downfall Records. Formed in 2009 as a creative outlet for metal musicians from Odense, Denmark, Mezmerizer has evolved over the years, experimenting with different musical styles and influences, culminating in this highly anticipated debut.

Originally conceived as a side project where musicians could break from their main bands and explore new sounds, Mezmerizer quickly gained attention with the release of their first track on a compilation album. Over the years, the band has collaborated with some of Denmark’s finest metal vocalists, including Jonas Viuff (Terrorpy), Esben Elnegaard Hansen (Hatesphere), and Michael Bastholm Dahl (Artillery). The music of Mezmerizer has continuously evolved, and with the departure of Michael Bastholm Dahl from Artillery in 2023, the band seized the opportunity to focus on refining their sound in the studio.

Whispers of Leviathan represents the culmination of years of experimentation and growth for Mezmerizer. The album fuses elements from across the metal spectrum, from the harshest black metal riffs to the most melodic harmonies. Speaking about the album’s style, Michael Bastholm Dahl notes, “The music is composed and recorded by artists who love all kinds of metal… we listen to each riff and try to come up with melodies, harmonies, punchlines, and rhythms that add something interesting to the overall sound.”

Flemming Goldberg-Larsen, the band’s primary composer, shares that Iron Maiden has been a life-long influence on his songwriting. “I love a million different metal bands, but when I work on new material, I remind myself that a live show can be built around aggressive tunes like ‘Wrathchild,’ epic songs like ‘Seventh Son of a Seventh Son,’ and crowd-pleasers like ‘Fear of the Dark.’ I may not have the same skills as Iron Maiden, but I will always strive to honor the tradition of bands that go the extra mile to give their listeners a memorable experience.”

The lyrics on Whispers of Leviathan tackle the double standards often seen among society’s leaders, exploring themes of deception and hypocrisy. The band emphasizes that the messages in their music and upcoming videos will challenge listeners to think critically about the world around them. As Mezmerizer reflects, "In a time where many people point fingers at each other, conflicts can often be avoided if we remember that things are seldom as they seem—neither in Denmark nor anywhere else."
