VAULDERIE RELEASE "SANGUINOCTUM"

PRESS RELEASE:

VAULDERIE

Sanguinoctum

Witches Brew

27 January 2026

VAULDERIE unleashes an unrelenting storm of occult black thrash with their latest album, Sanguinoctum. Released on January 27, 2026, through the esteemed Witches Brew, this ferocious full-length offering plunges listeners deep into the dark abyss, where vampiric menace and raw, visceral energy reign supreme. With eleven tracks of uncompromising extremity, Sanguinoctum defies modern polish, embracing a raw and authentic atmosphere that embodies the spirit of the underground metal scene.

From the haunting invocation that opens “The Invocation” to the chilling finale of “Among the Aeries,” VAULDERIE delivers a relentless auditory assault infused with the venom of classic black metal and the savagery of thrash. Riffs cut through the darkness with brutal precision, while guttural vocals rise from the crypt, creating a mood of pure nocturnal hostility. This is music crafted for candlelit basements and scorched earth stages, where the only expectation is raw power and ferocity.

Standout tracks such as “Calling the Blood,” “Nocturnal Hound,” and “Flight of the Gargoyles” exemplify VAULDERIE’s mastery of balancing speed and atmosphere without sacrificing their primal edge. The album feels ritualistic, violent, and deliberate— a true testament to the band’s commitment to authenticity. In a world of fleeting trends, VAULDERIE takes no shortcuts, delivering a sound that is unapologetically dangerous.

For fans of:

- Raw black thrash

- Underground extremity

- Metal that still sounds dangerous

MALEFIC RELEASE "IMPERMANENCE"

PRESS RELEASE:

Malefic

Impermanence

Terminus Hate City

13 February 2026

Atlanta blackened thrash visionaries MALEFIC are set to unleash their debut album, Impermanence, via Terminus Hate City on February 13, 2026. The band initially began work on the album in 2018, and conquered numerous personal and professional challenges on the road to completing their masterpiece. Drawing influence from black, death, and thrash metal, the diverse array of songs wrestles with themes such as politics, drug use, existentialism, perseverance, and the lasting consequences of one’s choices. Impermanence represents the culmination of many years of hard work and dedication, along with a deep love for music beyond strict genre boundaries.

The album opens with “Blood Of The Throne”, a storm of blistering blackened thrash metal. Precise guitar work, furious drumming, and vicious vocals dominate the soundscape, drawing the listener into a world where an oppressive economic system chews people up and spits them out. Unrelenting from the first note to the last, the song presents a venomous warning about the state of global affairs.

“In Darkest Dreams” showcases the MALEFIC’s death metal influences while retaining undertones of blackened thrash. Notably, it is one of the only songs on the album with a defined chorus, but still relies on a progressive rock-inspired structure. The band shifts their focus from reality to fantasy in this song, with lyrics telling a horror story about a deathly reaper figure.

“Of Gods And Man” marks a change of pace from the first two songs. It showcases MALEFIC’s melodic black metal influences, with a sense of urgency to the riffs and prominent bass lines. Intricate picking patterns intertwine with dueling guitar solos, as vocalist Aaron Baumoel spins a tale about greed, consumerism, and instant gratification. The song deals with the human relationship to a creator figure, and the existentialism that frequently pervades this relationship.

“Idiocracy” changes up the dynamics even further by introducing a black-n-roll sound. Catchy triplet riffing and epic arpeggios make it a memorable standout on the album. The lyrical themes return to the political and philosophical issues that are prevalent in modern society, arguing that many are unaware of their own ignorance, although they may attempt to call out others.

“Deserter” reintroduces a more prominent death metal sound. Ominous drums flow into groovy riffs and intricate solos, leading up to a barrage of thrash riffs. Call-and-response harsh vocals emerge out of the darkness, voicing feelings of abandonment and suicidal ideation. Syncopated drum beats and bass lines relentlessly carry the momentum onward.

“Disembodiment” opens with a haunting acoustic introduction, unlike any of the previous tracks on the album. The brutal, dueling harmonies in the chorus create the album’s emotional high point, as the lyrics warn of the dangers of narcissism, gaslighting, and emotional manipulation. Musically and lyrically, the song paints a path to despair that is, ironically, paved with beauty along the way.

Melodic and grandiose, “Obsidian Earth” is the album’s magnum opus. Unrelentingly aggressive, yet melodic and grandiose, the song takes the listener through a barrage of black metal riffs and blasting, melodic hooks, finally landing on an epic solo by Jason Davila. The song laments an impending, self-inflicted extinction of humanity, with a vocal performance marked by disquieting rage.

The most progressive song on the album, “Echoes Of Silence” boasts an ominous acoustic introduction. A variety of melodies expertly intertwine with one another, deftly carrying over from one section to the next. Chaotic black metal riffs drive forward a narrative about the dual nature of addiction, dispersed with heavy chords and cries of desperation. A cathartic guitar solo finally breaks the tension, and the lyrics of the last chorus serve as a reminder of life’s fragility.

The album finally drops off into the blackened abyss with “It Haunts”, pummeling the listener with charging riffs and fierce vocals. While intricate harmonies and guitar work weave themselves throughout the song, the epic guitar solo commands rapt attention. Mysterious lyrics describe a supernatural haunting, and are fittingly closed out by ghostly, magnificent acoustic arpeggios.

About MALEFIC:

MALEFIC roared onto the Atlanta metal scene in 2007 with ambitions to modernize the black metal genre. With their tight riffs, tasty leads, and relatable lyricism, MALEFIC abandons cliches and defies traditional genre boundaries. Their special blend of black metal, drawing from thrash and death metal influences, appeals to metalheads across subgenres. They count OLD MAN'S CHILD, CARCASS, TESTAMENT, DISSECTION, and OPETH among their most prominent influences, offering a fresh, modern take on metal that is unrivaled in the United States.

Though they are set to release their very first full-length album, Impermanence, in 2025, MALEFIC boasts an impressive live performance history, having played shows with notable bands such as 1349, CRYPTA, and PROFANATICA. After a hiatus in 2009, the band eagerly picked back up where they left off and reformed with a new lineup. MALEFIC initially began work on Impermanence in 2018, taking their time to ensure that every detail accurately reflected their vision for their album. The band's hard work and dedication has culminated in a powerful debut, lovingly crafted by fans of nuanced, boundary-pushing music.

MÝVALYÏR RELEASE "THE PAST TALES"

PRESS RELEASE:

MÝVALYĬR – THE PAST TALES

LABEL: INDEPENDENT RELEASE

RELEASE DATE: FEBRUARY 27th 2026

Conflict is a constant, resurfacing long after the moment has passed - moving through history and war, and settling within oneself. Struggle appears in many forms, from external confrontation to internal collapse, blurring the line between memory, myth, and lived experience. Battles are fought not only on the battlefield, but in thought, instinct, and endurance, leaving marks that shape identity over time… until resilience - the ability to persist, to adapt, and to continue forward while carrying the weight of what came before - becomes the measure of what we endure.

The first nascent ideas that would grow into the formidable entity that is Mývalyĭr appeared during the pandemic, with isolated musicians exchanging fledgling musical concepts, before finally finding its identity and solidifying its purpose in 2023. Mývalyĭr are steeped in the forms and aesthetics of melodic death metal, but they also draw on folk traditions and orchestral stylings, incorporating violin, cello and traditional instruments like the nyckelharpa to bring additional depth and layers to their sound, sending roots deeper into musical history, long past the apocryphal birth of metal. After releasing two singles – ‘Reign’ and ‘Recollection’ – in late 2025, Mývalyĭr are now ready to present their debut full length album. A concept album that explores the idea of the eternal conflict, both within and without, that shapes us and runs through every aspect of our history and culture. The Past Tales is a staggering beginning to the story of Mývalyĭr…

Opening track, ‘Requiem’, is a gateway to the world of Mývalyĭr, a rite of passage through which the listener is transported and transformed, before being plunged into the dark waters of ‘Recollection’. Dense, layered and fierce, with cataclysmic drums, keyboards dancing between the steel-clad guitars and vocals with real bestial menace, ‘Recollection’ is comprised of a multitude of musical chapters. The sense of drama is immense, the melody lines superb…and we have only just begun to make our way through this expansive narrative. The measured and powerful ‘Reign’ is next, imbued with an air of tragedy that twists between the riffs like a cold mist, the harsh vocals a revelation – demonstrating just how evocative and effective this style of delivery can be. Enthroned at the heart of the album, the epic ‘The Past Tales Part 1’ is magnificent from the first note – with haunting melody lines, bloodied riffs and a cinematic feel, as if a curtain is being drawn back to reveal something vast and breathtaking. Beautiful female vocals add a weight of melancholy as “the battle rages on” and a superbly atmospheric conclusion flows directly into ‘The Past Tales Part 2’; an epilogue to Part 1, but tumultuous and emotionally overwhelming in its own right, with superb touches of violin. ‘The Mighty Never Fall’ then grabs you in an iron fist of death metal, immediate, engaging and irresistible, before ‘Renascence’ provides a majestic conclusion, a march from the war-torn kingdom of The Past Tales, back into the light of reality…the vivid, visceral landscape of Mývalyĭr’s creation slowly fading from perception, leaving you with an ache - a need to return.

Adorned in the striking artwork of Felipe Machado Franco (Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, Rhapsody Of Fire etc) and mixed and mastered by Janne Lunnas (Boreal Grave, Shade Of Sorrow etc) The Past Tales is the complete package – a thrilling, immersive listening experience that will never let you go. Your voyage begins on February 27th…

VIAMAER RELEASE "IN LUMINE LUNAE"

PRESS RELEASE:

Today, Polish post-black metal/shoegaze project VIAMAER releases debut album "In lumine lunae".

VIAMAER is a space that was born out of silence — out of the moments when a person is left alone with themselves, with their own tension, fear, calm, and everything that comes between. It is a project that did not emerge from the need to create music, but from the need to express something that cannot be spoken in words.

Behind VIAMAER stands Krystian Jurkiewicz, though the project itself is not centered around a name. It is a way of capturing states a person goes through; a method of giving shape to the intangible yet deeply real. Sound became a natural tool — a place where emotions do not need to be explained, because they can be heard in melody, timbre, contrast, and the silence between notes.

The debut album "In lumine lunae" was created slowly, over two years, in the rhythm of life — at times accelerated, at times fractured, at times paused. This is not a collection of songs.

It is a sequence of states in which Polish lyrics lead an intimate narration, while Latin titles open the material to a deeper, more symbolic dimension.

VIAMAER has no ambition to be everything for everyone. It is a project for those who listen not only with their ears, but also with their soul.

VIAMAER "In lumine lunae" is an emotional, raw, and spacious album blending blackgaze, post-black metal, and shoegaze.

Music for debut album was composed, recorded, mixed and mastered by Krystian Jurkiewicz. Cover artwork was done by Piotr Pryk. Album is released today, January 29, 2026 in digital format and CD. Buy merch & music in physical format here ➡ https://viamaer.com/merch/

OWLS OVER OAKS RELEASE "O.O.O:"

PRESS RELEASE:

Band: OWLS OVER OAKS

Album: O.O.O.

Release Date: February 27th, 2026

Country: Italy

Genre: Extreme Drone Doom

Label: Argonauta Records

Italian extreme drone doom outfit OWLS OVER OAKS are ready to unleash their long awaited debut album O.O.O., out on February 27 in CD and digital formats via Argonauta Records.

Emerging from the depths of Italy’s extreme underground, OWLS OVER OAKS deliver a crushing and hypnotic vision of drone doom rooted in pure sonic weight and ritualistic atmospheres. The project was founded by Valerio “Leynir” Possetto, former bassist of Enisum, and took its definitive form with the addition of vocalist Elisa “Aeretica” Iacopini, previously active with Amethista, and drummer Roberto “Bob Rip” Ripollino, known for his work with Nihili Locus and Nerocapra.

Leynir is the sole composer and lyricist, shaping a sound conceived as a total immersion rather than a collection of songs. The debut album O.O.O., the first chapter of a planned trilogy, was recorded entirely in analog and mastered by James Plotkin, whose touch further enhances the oppressive and organic depth of the sound. One of its most radical elements is the complete absence of guitars. Instead, the music is built on dual bass lines, both performed by Leynir, which generate a massive and suffocating low end foundation. The result is a monolithic sonic structure that recalls the darkest visions of Thorr’s Hammer, Khanate, and Burning Witch, filtered through a bleak and apocalyptic sensibility.

Composed of three long tracks for a total running time of about forty minutes, O.O.O. unfolds as a single liturgical descent into pain, perdition, and blindness. The album is conceived as an unbroken ritual where repetition, tension, and space play as important a role as distortion and volume. Every passage is wrapped in a pitch black atmosphere inspired by the desolate imagery of a Mad Max like world.

Before the full release, the band previously unveiled an edit version of the track Owls, offering a first glimpse into their oppressive sound universe. It is still available at the following link:

With O.O.O., OWLS OVER OAKS invite listeners into a totalizing experience where heaviness becomes meditation and darkness turns into vision.

PAPA NECROSE RELEASE "ANTHROPOMORPHY EXECUTION"

PRESS RELEASE:

Papa Necrose return with their second full-length, Anthropomorphy Execution, arriving on March 20th via Awakening Records on CD and digital.

Formed in 2010 in the harshest corners of Salvador, Bahia, the band delivers old-school death metal in its most real, cruel, and corrosive form. Their sound hits with riffs, crushing drums, and an atmosphere designed for those who crave the raw edge of the genre. Papa Necrose tackles human contradictions, religious hypocrisy, war, death, and other societal ills, exposing the underbelly of the world we live in.

Anthropomorphy Execution marks a moment of maturation for the band. While keeping their raw, aggressive style intact, the album explores more complex song structures, technical riffing, and layered compositions. Influences from the most technical ’90s death metal - Human (Death) and Testimony of the Ancients (Pestilence) - are evident throughout.

Lyrically, the album delivers sharp criticism of religion, focusing on the role of Catholicism in historic humanitarian crises, world wars, and the darker trajectories of power and authority.

The closing track, “The Thousand Yard Gaze,” features a guest guitar solo by James Murphy (Death, Obituary, Cancer), providing a final, brutal highlight on the record.

VARMIA RELEASE NEW TRACK "DER TOT ADALBERT"

PRESS RELEASE:

Polish Black Metal band VARMIA release a new song and music video for “der tot Adalbert.”

"With this song, we take an unusual look at the pages of history. Since chronicles are written by the victors, events that actually took place may be interpreted in many different ways,” explains singer/guitarist Lasota. “The mission of Adalbert of Prague was a milestone in shaping the newly formed Polish state, which at the time desperately craved a martyr or a founding hero. These events took place on our land and are directly bound to the history of our ancestors, the Old Prussians. Thus, failing to speak up in this embroiled matter would be a failure on our part. This song was recorded live, not far from where these events took place more than a thousand years ago."

“der tot Adalbert” is available on all streaming/download digital platforms, or watch the music video premiered by Black Metal Promotion) HERE https://youtu.be/elLIGViz-po?si=inyrTAsA4MtYqGoo

The new single follows up “Zwykli Zmarli,” https://youtu.be/fSupe54X8JI?si=cWnwaIGP9R1EwOmX which was released over the All Saints Day/All Souls Day weekend, and each comes from the Polish group’s anticipated new album ‘lauks’ to be released March 27th.

"This album is the quintessence of our understanding of natural, raw intensity, teetering on the verge of chaos,” states Lasota. “As always, we recorded it live – this time among the ruins of one of the many castles still standing on our land. Within its empty, derelict halls, we discovered a new dimension of musical naturalism. The aura of the place is embedded into the sound, reverberating through the slower hits of the instruments. The title ‘lauks’ refers to the way our ancestors coexisted in groups of communes or settlements. In the context of this album, it signifies identity, territorial instinct, and the sharp line between us and them."

‘lauks’ a much more straight forward and intense VARMIA raging through a darkened track of raw primal black metal that still clings to their Baltic roots abetted by adding in percussion and traditional instrumentation and is available now for pre-order on limited-edition 300 warm blood colored vinyl (with insert and download code), jewelcase CD with 12-page booklet or digital. Order now at www.m-theoryaudio.com/store or www.varmiaband.bandcamp.com

Expect tour date announcement soon.

VARMIA was formed in 2016 by composer Lasota with a mission of fusing black metal with musical influences that pay tribute to the ancient Baltic tribes of the historical Warmia region of northern Poland. Vocally, harsh growls shroud the band's music and native Polish lyrics in a visceral aura, the only breaks occurring when using the traditional, ancient technique of “whitevoice” clean singing as utilized during ancient East-Central European rituals, rites of passage and festivals. Meanwhile, the power of the band's metal influences are enhanced by traditional ethnic instrumentation of the Baltic Rites via sounds of tagelharpa, goat horn, lyre (gęśle), tribal drums, wood tuba and krivula. The final result is a compelling mix of dark metallic sounds that channel the spirit of early Enslaved, Satyricon and Wolves in the Throne Room and folk elements that drive acts such as Wardruna and Heilung.

VARMIA has released four albums to date – 2017's ‘Z mar twych,’ 2018's ‘W ciele nie,’ 2021’s ‘bal Lada,’ their first collaborating with M-Theory Audio, and 2023’s ‘Nie Nas Widze.’
