XENOTRONE RELEASE "INTO THE VOID"

Into the Void is the debut album by the Ukrainian progressive thrash-death metal band Xenotrone.

Archivist Records has set February 21, 2025, as the international release date for Ukrainian progressive thrash metal band Xenotrone's debut full-length album, Into the Void.

From the first to the last track, the album keeps the listener immersed in an atmosphere of cosmic horror, reminding us that within the vastness of space, humanity is but dust.

Throughout the album, well-thought-out and intriguing musical moves make the band's debut a truly unique release of early 2025!

Xenotrone is a band from Dnipro, Ukraine, founded in 2021 by guitarist-vocalist Kostyantyn Roskosenko and Danylo "Soulreaper." Over the years, many musicians have been part of the band.

The band released its first demo in 2022, which was warmly received by the underground community, although there was still room for improvement.

After releasing the demo, the band went on hiatus for a year. However, in 2023, they reunited with a new lineup and recorded the Queen of the Night EP, which takes listeners back to the '80s, evoking the sounds of bands like Watchtower and Mekong Delta. The release, available on CDs and cassettes, was warmly received by the audience and gained its own fan base.

Xenotrone is part of the new wave of thrash metal in Ukraine, standing out significantly among other bands in the genre.

Emerging melodic death metal force TIL THE END has unleashed their latest music video for “Cemetery Trees,” the third single from their upcoming EP Dark Kings, due out March 7 via the band.

Formed in 2023, TIL THE END brings together an impressive lineup of seasoned musicians: vocalist Antony Hämäläinen (Nightrage, Armageddon), guitar virtuoso Kostas Sotos (Mystic Prophecy, Crystal Tears), drummer Márton Veress (Orgy, Armageddon), and bassist/rhythm guitarist Nic Svensson (Slaves For Scores). 

Recorded at Swede Studios by Svensson, Dark Kings captures the essence of Scandinavian melodeath with a modern edge. “Cemetery Trees” showcases the hallmarks of the genre, including galloping percussion, melodic riffs and an anthemic chorus. Earlier singles, “Dark Kings” and “Higher and Beyond,” highlight Sotos’ penchant for killer riffs and Hämäläinen’s energetic vocals.

TIL THE END recently announced their first live performance March 7 in Budapest, Hungary, at Barba Negra opening for Junkies with From The Sky.

MEPHITIC CORPSE is from San Luis Obispo, California, and have played brutal grindcore since 2018. The band's demo tape Immense Thickening Vomit was released by Extremely Rotten Productions (Europe) and Headsplit Records (USA) and was spread worldwide with several pressings from both labels. A CD version was also released by Terrible Mutilation Records (Australia).

MEPHITIC CORPSE plays a fast and thick style of death metal that draws on the early roots of grind and brutal death metal bands, such as IMMORTAL FATE, GUTTED PULP and Mexican DISGORGE. They have played across the US, Canada and several shows in Europe, amongst them both editions of the Unearthed Morbidity Festival in Copenhagen and will be playing Maryland Death Fest and two US tours in early 2025 in support of Sickness Attracts Sickness. to be released by Extremely Rotten Productions, Headsplit Records and 625 Thrash in early February 2025.

Sickness Attracts Sickness was recorded and mixed by Ethan Camp at Ethan’s Work between August and September 2023 and mastered by Dan Lowndes and Sound Resonance Studio.

RITUAL ASCENSION RELEASE "PROFANATION OF THE ADAMIC COVENANT"

Sentient Ruin are very proud and excited to rejoin forces with our kindred spirits again, as Members of Void Rot, Suffering Hour, and Aberration come together in Ritual Ascension, a horrendous sonic desecration decomposing death metal into a subsonic hallucinatory miasma, and deforming into a hideous disfigurement of its former self. Devoured in dissonance and shrouded in catacombal atmospheres, the band’s horrendous debut full-length monstrosity "Profanation of the Adamic Covenant" takes the masterful death-doom horror of early Temple Nightside and Grave Upheaval, and transfigures it further into the darkest abysses of surrealism.

The putrid behemoth-like debut monstrosity has been introduced by always attentive extreme metal blog Toilet ov Hell, who in premiering the colossal thirteen-minute closing track of the album, have remarked how “‘Kolob (At the Throne of Elohim)’ will wrap its pitch-black tendrils around you and slowly crush you with exactly the expertise you’d expect given the project’s pedigree” - adding that the album is “brutally heavy and suffocatingly dark” and that “the band really stick to the ‘ritual’ part of their name”. Not dissimilar to an auditory experimental horror film or to a stripped down version of Portal playing experimental doom, the work traces the grotesque lineaments of a disfigured subterranean hellscape through a masterful use of surrealism, dissonance and compositional abstraction. Slow, crushing, atonal dirges alternate lumbering behemoth-like trudges and enigmatic tectonic upheavals that build an immense ominous aura as the album unfolds a dense, mephitic atmosphere draped in malevolent ambience. The album’s monolithic and agonizing crawl is then violently disrupted by onslaughts of wrathful disturbances, where bursts of demented blasting, tortured screams and mangled fretwork blindside the listener, casting them further down the abyss, into a bottomless sepulcher of confusion and of complete chthonic torment.

“Profanation of the Adamic Covenant” is scheduled for a February 28 2025 release via Sentient Ruin on LP, CD, MC, and digital formats worldwide, now all pre-orderable via all Sentient Ruin channels.

Ritual Ascension coalesced around 2023 after Aberration completed their debut album. Three of its members (ex-Nothingness drummer E.C., Void Rot guitarist J.H. here also handing bass and lyrics, and bassist D.H. from Suffering Hour, here handling only vocals) reconvened to continue creating together and to keep pushing their deviant ideas forward. Initially a side project of truly grotesque lineaments began to take shape, but as things progressed, the members’ well established alchemy, vision, and experienced musicianship lead to the creation of an entirely new band under the name of Ritual Ascension, a vector for unseen auditory abominations expanding on the inspirational foundations laid by iconic Australian extreme doom bands like Temple Nightside, Disembowelment and Grave Upheaval. The defining aspect of the project thus became the slower and much more crushing and oppressive tempos of death-doom, while still retaining the dissonance and abstract songwriting approach from the original concept derived from Aberration. With five pachydermic tracks completed in 2024 and spread across an abysmal forty-seven running time, the band soon shaped their colossal debut full-length abomination, “Profanation of the Adamic Covenant”, an anti-religious, blasphemous, behemoth concept album dealing with some of the darkest and most sinister aspects in the history and theology of the so called Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known as the Mormon Church), and shaped by direct experiences by some of the band members themselves within said religious movement as well.

Austrian metal band Crowheart, formed in 2015 by ex-members of Everlasting Dawn, blends melodic, symphonic, death, and black metal influences. Their debut double album The Frailty of Men (2016) was followed by the Plague King EP (2018) and Sins (2021). Lyrically, Crowheart delves into themes of depression, oppression, and addiction. ASASARA RELEASE "777"

Stoner/Thrash Metal project, ASASARA, will release sophomore EP, 777, on cassette and 12" vinyl LP formats on February 18 and March 8, respectively!

The EP was released on digital format last Halloween and is streaming in its entirety at asasara.bandcamp.com/album/777. The EP is also available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and YouTube.

The 777 EP can be viewed as a sample of what's to come. Kicking off with three original tracks, familiar sounds of old school thrash collide with a smokey haze of stoner stylings. The project closes on a strange note with a reworked traditional Greek song - "The Gambler (Ο ΚΟΥΜΑΡΤΖΗΣ​)" - that dates back to over a century ago, given new life here by the heavy riffing within. The new EP follows the release of 2022 debut, Sinking.

From the depths of a place where esoteric Greek myth and occult teachings collide, Massachusetts' own ASASARA melds stoner and thrash metal styles into a refreshingly old school sound!
