The earth lies in shadow, shattered and cold. The skies are an unceasing maelstrom of turbulent, roiling clouds, their darkness split and fragmented by jagged shards of lightning that stab down at the ground below, like a killer beyond madness inflicting wound after degrading wound upon a victim long since dead. The accompanying roars of thunder blend in dissonant harmony with rabid howls of lust and piercing screams of pain and terror; an infernal symphony that has replaced the multitudinous sounds of life.  The once fecund soil has been reduced to ash, a lifeless, unchanging landscape strewn with the carelessly discarded bones of stolen lives. This is the aftermath of demonic holocaust...

It is time to return to the nightmare world of endless death that was first revealed to us by Evil In’s debut EP, An Ethereal Force Beyond, a year ago. Welcome to Age Of Immortal Darkness – six tracks of rampaging, thunderous death/thrash metal, enfolded within eerie, unsettling intro and outro pieces that act as doorways into this world of terror. Once across the threshold the listener is flung into a twilight torn open by barbarous riffing, where drum beats fall like hammers upon mighty anvils and guitar solos constructed from broken glass and barbed wire cascade like star showers. Meanwhile a raw, unholy voice narrates tales of torment through the mists of strange, disorientating atmosphere. From the dynamic death of ‘Merciless Ancient Evil’, through the sinister assault of the ‘Demon Grave Robbers’, on to the stuttering faded glory of ‘Destination Earth’, Age Of Immortal Darkness offers a unique trip through forbidding hinterlands of death and thrash metal. In a time where so much music seems to topple off an endless conveyor belt of clones, Evil In bring their own character, personality and individual approach to their vision of metal. Even the artwork for Age Of Immortal Darkness, created by Jois Cabe (Gravestalker, Jaded Black etc) follows a different path from the herd.

While the An Ethereal Force Beyond EP was all the work of Charlie Murphy, the multi instrumentalist has now been joined by Steffen Banas of No Coffin and this alliance of talents has brought an extra dimension to the Evil In sound. Age Of Immortal Darkness possesses a depth of atmosphere and forceful strength only hinted at before. On July 29th the story of Evil In will continue to unfold – step once more into a future vision of horror and exhilarating fear...
