Paroxysms is a barrage of paranoid nihilism that takes oppressive industrial textures, grinding hyperkinetic blasts and expansive blackened transcendence into uncontrollable nuclear fission. Inspired by Philip K. Dick’s Valis, Solzhenitsyn’s The Gulag Archipelago and occult and esoteric works from Montague Summers to Georges Bataille, it is the sound of inexplicable violence flashing for an instant in the infinite uncaring void. It is the product of Charlie Davis (Wasted Death, Beggar) on vocals, guitar, bass, drum programming, synth and noise. Fragments of Norwegian frost, industrial dub, Floridian death metal, inhuman glitch, Slayer worship, analogue noise and breakneck grind make this album a polychromatic nightmare experience.
