"Cult Of Kukulkan" is a concept album about loss, spiritual pilgrimage, deceit, and revenge. Written loosely in sonata form, the songs flow through different movements to carry the lyrical narrative and create an overwhelming and immersive backdrop to the reality-based story.
Drawing influence from Akercocke, Anata, Martyr, Klabautamann, Deathspell Omega, Asmodée, Spawn Of Possession, and Gorguts, Alcyone adds to this sphere of influences with a new form of deep, immersive, spellbinding extreme metal.
With a unique approach to songwriting, vocal delivery, and riff crafting, Cult Of Kukulkan highlights the members' eclectic musical backgrounds as individuals from outside the realms of metal music.
