London death sludge four-piece Liquid Shit return with another vile slab of sonic misery. New EP ‘Repulsive Bodies’ follows on from 2022’s ‘Untold Horrors’ on Dry Cough and 2020’s ‘Pillars of Shit’ on Hominid Sounds, and this is grosser and more destructive than anything that’s come before. The six songs on ‘Repulsive Bodies’ get progressively slower, harsher and more atonal as the EP progresses, moving from pounding relentlessness to crawling sludge in a sonic and lyrical reflection of a body falling apart. This is a slow, unctuous descent into neurosis, narcosis and necrosis, a nasty collision of '90s death metal and harsh '80s hardcore. Brutal riffs, squealing feedback, guttural angst; it’s not pleasant, but what would you expect, it’s Liquid Shit.
