The bottomless darkest mud pit in the Black Swamp holds yet another death metal band, Infectious Waste. They were formed in 2022 as three pieces, Logan Herrera, John Sekenger, and one who will not be named on drums practiced music in each other's basements. This was shortly lived as the drummer got kicked out of the band and was quickly replaced by drummer, Brendan McManus. They played as a three-piece for some time and with every member being in school made limited time to practice. A lot of the band's free time is going to shows in the local area. On a night in February 2022, the Ottawa Tavern was packed to the brim for the most prominent OHDM band in the state, Sanuisugabogg. This is where the band met their guitarist Holden Folk. After jamming with the drummer a couple of times Holden was invited to join the band. with a new member, Logan dropped guitar to focus on vocals. The first couple of practices as a four-piece were jamming and getting to know each other. they slowly started to make songs for their one plan, to release music. With a tight schedule with work, vacations, and school around the corner, they were able to make a day to record with 50-way studios. That day didn't go too well, with only getting done with half of a song. They were humbled, but they didn't give up. the next time they set up a recording date, they got all of the songs done in 3 days. We are Infectious Waste, with our first release, Keep an Open Mind.
