Founded in 2018 by José Luis Vargas (guitar, vocals), George San Román (bass, vocals), and René Álvarez (guitar), Call ov the Void quickly established themselves as a formidable presence in the underground metal scene. With the addition of Axel Fabricio (drums), the band solidified their lineup and embarked on a relentless pursuit of sonic exploration.
Having made their mark with a series of mesmerizing live performances and the release of their debut EP, "Drowned," in 2019, Call ov the Void continued to carve out their place in the metal landscape. Following the challenges of the 2020 pandemic, the band emerged stronger than ever, thrilling audiences across Mexico with their raw energy and profound musicality.
Now, Call ov the Void stands on the cusp of a new chapter with the announcement of their debut album, "On Grief and Dying," slated for release on March 15, 2024. Recorded and mixed by the esteemed Sam Becerra ( Aetherevm ) and mastered by the legendary Dan Swanö ( Edge of Sanity, Nightingale, Bloodbath ), the album promises to be a tour de force of doom-laden melodies and crushing riffs.
"A Peaceful Surrender," the latest single from "On Grief and Dying," showcases the band's signature blend of melancholy atmospheres and ferocious intensity.
