THROUGH MISTS RELEASE "PROLIFIC"

 

PRESS RELEASE:

Through Mists channels aggressive melodies, dissonance and avant garde song structures and rhythms by paying homage to and adding to the advancement of extreme metal. A one man project, Through Mists has crafted four songs of heavy and dissonant composition for the EP 'Prolific'. The collection on offer here skews to the darkness while maintaining a melodious undertone throughout. "prolific' will be released independantly on April 26th , 2024.

Through Mists comments:

"Through Mists is very excited to share this ep with the world! It feels like a fresh start, as we have wrapped up the long running storyline in the previous album, Summon The Severed, and feel like we can explore different themes in a more elastic sense, without being tied to one particular over arching narrative. It's time to tear out our own insides to be displayed!"

Prolific signals both a fresh start thematically, while it does follow up on the increasing aggression that Through Mists has ramped up over the last few releases (Starkiller, Homicidal Hamsters and Summon The Severed). Musically you can expect more focus on guitar and bass, with only one song, the 14 plus minute title track diving into the usual mainstay of adding piano and synth for melodies and ambience.

Lyrically, the first 3 songs on Prolific explores the thought of giving yourself over physically, mentally and spiritually to an ideal that may destroy you, while the ending track sums it up as the pursuit of fulfilment through persistence and creation in a material world that is constantly decaying The EP will be available digitally on Bandcamp and other digital streaming platforms

About Through Mists:

Based out of the city of Montreal, Canada, James Aniston (Synastry) has devised Through Mists, an eerie, moody, aggressive project to convey his mind's creations through. Diving head first into the audio, self-production world during the year of the pandemic, James has been tirelessly composing, tracking and producing his own ideas. These ideas have culminated to form the basis of Through Mists, which fully emerged in May 2021.
