PRESS RELEASE:
Atlanta, GA, based black metal quartet CELESTIAL DEATH present an explosive heavy and authentic debut in their first offering, "Anti-Preacher". Accompanying a poignant commentary on pervasive corruption, is an onslaught of high intensity riffs, thrashing percussion and obliterating growls. Out now via Terminus Hate City Records, the single is available exclusively at No Clean Singing HERE.
The frontman Jay Crash comments on "Anti-Preacher":
"Our debut single, 'Anti-Preacher', is a statement of who we are as a band: we are in open rebellion against the corrupt individuals who sit at a pulpit preaching peace but actively supporting wars and genocides in the name of religion. We are a band that states exactly what we are about, and who we are against. These cowards hide behind religious manipulation, brainwashing their followers to commit violence against non-believers; to conquer land in the name of God or other deities; to take money from the poor all in the name of a 'greater good'; to elect leaders who claim to uphold Christian (or other religious) values, resulting in oppressive laws over bodily autonomy, and what should be natural human rights..."
About CELESTIAL DEATH:
Initially beginning as a project devised by Jay Crash (Terminus Hate City Records), CELESTIAL DEATH emerged in its now fully fledged form in early 2024. Embodying the DIY spirit of the genre but with a modern production sound, the band draw from members' previous roles in the progressive and tech-death realms, alongside the more traditional, raw black metal style, to add a dynamic and distinctive flavor to their music.
The line-up are all fully versed in the Atlanta scene having performed in numerous bands in the area for many years. Guitarist Ryan Buck is best known for his bass playing, as a member of COLETTA, and having toured with HAIL THE SUN. Drummer Matthew Carmichael appeared recently filling in on drums for TÓMARÚM, has toured with CYBORG OCTOPUS and ARCHEOLOGIST, and is also a member of the Atlanta tech-death band, NIHILECT.
Alongside the DIY ethos, CELESTIAL DEATH embrace, and are inspired by, the philosophical view that we are all stardust and to that state we shall return; that life and death is the natural order and is key for the survival of the universe. As the band gear up to release more music in 2025, "Anti-Preacher" provides a tantalizing first glimpse at the band's fierce take on modern black metal.
