Spectral Decay, Albuquerque NM based Black Metal / Crust punk band, has announced a tour from 10/24 – 10/31 to promote their new album “Left Hand Wrath”, available via streaming and cassette 10/31 through Realm & Ritual Records. The tour spans through New Mexico, Texas and Louisiana for the week leading up to the album’s release.
This will be the second album from the band, and a significant improvement in production from the self-recorded first album, “Pleading for Eternal Night”. Recorded at All Aces Studios in Denver, CO by Austin Minney, the album further develops Spectral Decay’s unique brand of eclectic black metal while exploring themes of political corruption, religious fervor, and misanthropic rage.
“While the new record isn’t a huge departure from the sound we’ve been cultivating for several years, it does introduce new influences and thematic elements previously unexplored”, says the band, “I think you can hear thrash, death metal, hardcore, crust and even a touch of surf rock in these new songs. We took the formula we’ve been working with and pushed everything to the extreme – The fast parts are faster, the heavy parts are heavier, and even the melodic elements are more intense.”

One single, “Hangwitch” has already been released. Another single, the scorching death metal opener of the album, “Morningstar” will be released on 10/10. The full album will be available on all streaming platforms on Halloween (10/31), with cassettes available through Realm & Ritual.
Spectral Decay formed in 2021 as the brainchild of guitarist Helminth. While firmly rooted in early black metal and thrash metal musically, the musicians have strong roots in the DIY punk scene as bookers, promoters and organizers. They have quickly risen to regional prominence by touring through the Midwest and Southwest, and opening for international touring acts such as Uada, Ghostbath, Wayfarer and Poison Ruin.
