Traders Of Truth, the ninth studio album from Dutch progressive metalists Kong, contains eleven almost entirely instrumental tracks featuring their signature mix of progressive metal, dance, industrial and ambient.

In contrast to earlier releases, Traders Of Truth is not the result of jam sessions in the rehearsal room in which all bandmembers had an equal share. This time all the songs were initiated by one of the musicians and shared (mostly over the internet) with the others to contribute their parts and to reshape and refine the arrangements. This way of working resulted in a wide variety of directions, moods and sounds, which in the end all somehow fit in the eclectic style that always has been typical of Kong's music.

Sessions took place at different locations: two attics and a basement in Amsterdam and a former cloister in Amersfoort served as recording studio. The album was mixed by Dag Erik Nygaard (known from his work with Abbath, The Gathering and Ribozyme) in his studio in Bergen, Norway.

The progressive/post metal trio KILTER, are preparing to unveil the new EP, The Suspended Woman, featuring ANDROMEDA ANARCHIA on November 17th, 2023. The EP showcases a number of pieces from their opera La Suspendida and offers a taste of their forthcoming 2024 full-length offering. 

Bassist Laurent David comments:

"I'm extremely honored to introduce you to the first part of our massive opera project! Before you dive into the entire thing, here's a sneak peek with stripped-down versions of 9 out of the 17 tracks that make up the opera, performed as a trio. These are raw, intense renditions recorded during our Europe/India tour in November 2022. Crank up the volume, of course."

Alongside the large-scale stage production of the opera La Suspendida, KILTER offers an album featuring selected titles from it, arranged for a trio of drums, electric bass, and bass saxophone. Similar to BENJAMIN BRITTEN's "Four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes", KILTER presents here the very essence of their compositions. The jazz metal fusion of Laurent David, Kenny Grohowski, and Ed Rosenberg III combines drones, blasts, riffs, and patterns to create a unique sonic experience.

About KILTER: 

KILTER is a Brooklyn, NY, based trio formed in 2018 by bassist Laurent David. Since then, the band has released a first eponymous EP in 2018 that won the Independent Music Award in New York in the Jazz EP category, the album AXIOM in 2020, a second EP titled SYS, and finally the complete opera La Suspendida featuring soloist  ANDROMEDA ANARCHIA (soprano), the Growlers Choir, and the string quartet SEVEN)SUNS (release in March 2024). With these different repertoires, the trio has performed in France, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, India, Canada and the United States.

Spawned in the shadows of Kentucky, BLACK KNIFE have sharpened their caustic collision of evil punk and black metal since 2016. This Halloween season, these Lexington hellraisers team up with Wise Blood Records and Mercenary Press to conjure their deadly 3rd full-length record, tastelessly titled Baby Eater Witch.

The numbers speak for themselves: 9 splits/EPs and 2 full-length rippers in only 7 years. Their prolific discography is a testament to their restless, undead DIY spirit. That tenacity was on full display when Black Knife first collaborated with Wise Blood on the Faster Than the Fucking Devil four-band split (2022). They sold the damn thing out before you could shout FUCK ME JESUS. While that split series is known for being focused on black thrash, BLACK KNIFE’s approach is steeped in punk bedlam. 

“I would say we take our favorite parts of wild and sleazy Thrash, Punk, Black Metal, and trashy Rock riffs,” shares vocalist/guitarist Hellwulv. “We drop them all in one toxic stew to form BLACK KNIFE. We also add a good portion of horror movie influence for good measure as well.”

The horror components of BLACK KNIFE’s new record are right there on the cover, ingesting an infant. Baby Eater Witch is a title certain to cause double-takes so vicious they snap spines. The gruesome, godless cover art by Eyedust welcomes blasphemy charges with horns raised high.

“The whole concept came from an old painting of a swamp witch in a cave about to cook a baby in her cauldron that I came across,” Hellwulv recalls. “Seeing that and loving all things Halloween, it really started to speak to me for a cool title track and overall vibe for the album. The original cover was going to be just a close-up image of the teeth crunching into a baby like a Big Mac, then the direction changed. But not by much! If I walked into a record store and saw that album cover, I would buy that album without hesitation, even without hearing the first song.”
